SABUROMARU Distillery will Appear at Anime Central

Anime Central is happy to announce that SABUROMARU Distillery will appear at the 2024 convention.

SABUROMARU is the first whisky distillery in Hokuriku region of Japan since starting its whisky production in 1952. It was renovated in 2016 through a successful crowdfunding campaign. SABUROMARU whisky is made from exclusively heavily peated malt and has an outstanding smoky flavor. Over 70 years history, the distillery continues to spread the value of Japanese whisky by preserving traditions and exploring new challenges. In 2023, as a part of the new challenges, SABUROMARU collaborated with Japanese animation video games PERSONA and GUILTY GEAR. Jota Yoshiga is the manager of Overseas Business Promotion Division for Wakatsuru Shuzo, the parent company of SABUROMARU Distillery, and he has eight years of experiences in international trade and shipping industry. He loves Japanese Whisky and Sake and his mission is to spread the deliciousness and culture of Japanese Whisky and Sake to all over the world. He also loves to play rugby and has won the Philippines Rugby Championship in 2022.

Ayako Yasuda is the SABUROMARU Distillery US representative and she has lived in Atlanta GA since 2019. Her previous career was a diplomat as of cultural culinary affairs at Japanese consulate. She is also sommelier and a huge Japanese manga fan. Yasuda wants to spread her love and knowledge of Japanese whisky to the anime fans.

Anime Central (ACen) is the largest anime, manga and Japanese popular culture convention in Chicago and the Midwest. Anime Central 2024 will take place from May 17-19 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare and Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.
