Anime Central welcomes all members of the media who are involved in the anime, manga, and/or entertainment industry.
Press and Content Creators
Anime Central is pleased to offer multiple options for members of the media to join us in coverage of this year’s event! We welcome all members of the media who are involved in the anime, manga, and/or entertainment industry.
Membership Badge options are intended for those working in an editorial or talent capacity for an established outlet or brand/channel. This may be reporters, hosts/talent, camera operators, reviewers, etc.
Prior approval for yourself or your outlet as Press or a Content Creator does not guarantee future approvals. Complimentary Press or Content Creator Membership Badges are a privilege granted by the Midwest Animation Promotion Society (MAPS) and we reserve the right to deny applications at any point. Submission of this form does not guarantee a Press or Content Creator Membership Badge for Anime Central.
Please note that any creators/outlets who produce “comedy” or “shock” convention content go against Anime Central’s Anti-Harassment Policy and our Press Department has a zero-tolerance policy for this behavior. We will not approve any outlet or member known to create such content, and any approved Press or Content Creator member/outlet found to engage in harassment or otherwise inappropriate behavior will receive a permanent ban and will not be approved in future years. For questions about Anime Central’s policies, please check out https://www.acen.org/about-us/convention-policies/.
Press Registration
Press Membership Badges may be for those employed with a major media company, independent contractors, or other media professionals.
Currently recognized outlet types include Broadcast Media, Print Media, Web-Based Media (Audio, Video, or Written), Freelance Press who submit items to established outlets for publishing, and Student Media fitting the above categories. To be considered, the outlet must have a minimum of 1 year’s regular activity.
A Press Membership is not intended to provide preferential treatment for members of the Press at Anime Central. However, it does offer unique opportunities to active media outlets through:
- 1-on-1 and group interviews with Guests of Honor and Performers
- A private Press Stage area in the Donald E Stevens Convention Center
- Reserved Press seating at some events during the convention
If your outlet has multiple members, please verify that each member of the outlet is registered individually. You will receive a confirmation email for each registration so you know it has been received. If approved, you will receive a separate email confirming your registration for either a complimentary or paid Press Membership Badge, and important information regarding the convention.
Content Creator Registration
Content Creator Membership Badges may be for those who post audio/visual content regularly to multiple social media channels (such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok) instead of having a single primary channel. To be considered, the outlet must have a minimum of 1 year’s regular posting activity on at least one of the submitted channels.
A Content Creator Membership is not intended to provide preferential treatment to attending Content Creators, and is not required to produce content at Anime Central. However, it does offer unique opportunities to active media outlets through:
- Interviews with Guests of Honor and Performers
- A private Press Stage area in the Donald E Stevens Convention Center
