About Mayako Nigo
Mayako Nigo is a Japanese voice actress and singer from Tokyo.
She originally learned of the profession of voice acting after being involved in stage dramas in elementary school, and realized that she enjoyed performing in front of others. After studying at the Haikyo Voice Actor’s School and Japan Narration Acting Institute, she joined a professional voice acting agency.
She is most well known as Yayoi Takatsuki in the long running game and anime series THE IDOLM@STER since 2005. As part of her work in the series, she has recorded on over 250 CD albums, singles, radio recordings, Drama CDs, and more. She has also reprised her role as Yayoi in the Fall 2023 anime, THE iDOLM@STER Million Live!
In addition to voice acting, she has performed on stage at live concerts for the franchise for 18 years, including most recently performing at Tokyo Dome for “THE IDOLM@STER M@STERS OF IDOL WORLD!!!!! 2023”.
Some of her other roles include Misaki Etou from Dragon Crisis!, Sasa from Omamori Himari, Kurumi the Hamster from Angel’s Tail, as well as other game roles such as May Kauwin from Mobile Suit Gundam Lost War Chronicles, Lilica Felchenerow from the Arcana Heart series, Reu from Mugen Souls Z, and more.
She enjoys walking, knitting, and driving.
Anime Central will be Mayako Nigo’s first ever U.S. convention appearance!
