About Tomo Sakurai
Tomo Sakurai is a versatile actress and singer from Tokyo.
She made her debut in the entertainment industry at the age of 15 as a member of an idol group, and since then she has continued her diverse activities as a singer, stage actress, TV actress, and voice actress to this day.
She has played the main characters in numerous animated films as a voice actress. She is currently well known for the role of the strong trainer, Shirona (known in the US as Cynthia), in the popular Pokemon franchise. Her major roles have featured Mylene Jenius of Macross7, Kaitou Saint Tail (Saint Tail) and Misao Makimachi on Rurouni Kenshin.
As a singer, she has held numerous live concerts and has published more than 100 CDs, mostly anime and game theme songs as well as her own original songs.
She plans to broaden her activities to the United States in the future.
Anime Central will be Tomo Sakurai’s first U.S. convention appearance!
