We’re thrilled to announce that the incredibly talented Yu Kousaka will be joining us at Anime Central this year! Don’t miss your chance to meet them, attend their panels, and celebrate their amazing career at Anime Central.
About Yu Kousaka
Yu Kousaka is a Japanese seiyuu from 81 Produce.
Born in Texas, USA, they spent their formative years living across the United States, France, and Japan. As a self-proclaimed “US Theater kid to weeb to seiyuu”, they grew up watching anime and would often recite lines from their favorite characters, eventually sparking a dream of becoming a seiyuu in Japan.
Today, Kousaka is actively pursuing that dream, and their journey is one of passion, perseverance, and crossing borders, both literally and figuratively.
A graduate of 81 Produce’s talent program, Kousaka earned the Excellence Award and the Bunka Hoso Award at the 12th 81 Produce Audition. Since then, they have steadily built their career across anime, games, foreign dubbing, and television narration. This included a recent trilingual narration of a promotional video for Model Debut4, where they did the English, French, and Japanese PV.
Kousaka’s anime credits include roles in Kaiju No. 8 Season 2, A Sign of Affection, Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus, UniteUp! Season 2, and MIX 2, among others. In games, they have lent their voice to titles such as Library of Ruina, Arknights (English voice), Wuthering Waves, and Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road of Heroes. They have also dubbed roles in live action overseas/Western productions including Heartstopper Season 2, Agatha All Along, and Reptile.
Recently, Kousaka, who is a fan of IDOLM@STER Million Live, also was able to contribute background voices to the drama track in the CD release, “THE IDOLM@STER MILLION BATTLE OF THE@TER EX 02 Exodus of Iron Wings”.
Beyond acting, Kousaka enjoys journaling, watching musicals, idol performances, and appreciates taking a break with a good comfy book.
Anime Central will be Yu Kousaka’s first U.S. convention appearance, joining us as a guest and support MC, as ACen is the first to welcome them back to the country where their story began to make fans and friends alike.
