Interested in having a panel of judges review your costume as part of the masquerade?
Awards include
• Best Novice: the best novice-level craftsmanship participating in the masquerade.
• Best Journeyman: the best journeyman-level craftsmanship participating in the masquerade.
• Best Master: the best master-level craftsmanship participating in the masquerade.
• Best Group: the best craftsmanship we saw from a group of people participating in the masquerade.
• Best Walk-on: the best showing-off of a costume by a group which was not performing that our panel of
judges saw during the masquerade.
• Best Performance: the best performance our panel of judges saw during the masquerade. (Please note:
Space is always limited, and it is possible to pre-register for this event starting January 1st of each year. A way
to be sure you participate? Visit the forums on or after Jan 1st of each year to sign up before the con itself!

Hall Cosplay

Would you like to have a panel of judges review your costume but:
• You aren’t comfortable being in front of large groups of people or can’t dedicate the time that participation in
the Masquerade requires?
• You have a costume which doesn’t quite fit the Masquerade’s categories?
• You have multiple costumes you’d like judged?
If any of the above describe you, participate in the Hall Cosplay contest! Awards include
• Best Individual Novice (Friday and Saturday): the best novice-level craftsmanship we saw for either Friday or
Saturday.
• Best Individual Journeyman (Friday and Saturday): the best journeyman-level craftsmanship we saw for that
particular day.
• Best Group (One for both): the best craftsmanship we saw from a group of people for the weekend.
• Best Prop (One for both): the best craftsmanship on a prop we saw for the weekend.
• Best Child: the best child craftsmanship we saw for the weekend.
• Best American Based Cosplay: the best craftsmanship of a costume of non-Japanese/South Korean origin we
saw for the weekend.
• The Thriftiness Award (Closet Cosplay): the best example of closet cosplay we saw for the weekend (what did
you find at stores or in your closet to make your entire costume?).
