Anime Central (ACen) has officially opened applications for Press and Content Creator Membership Badges, inviting media professionals and content creators to participate in this vibrant celebration of Japanese culture.
Press Membership Badges
Designed for individuals affiliated with major media companies, independent contractors, or other media professionals, Press Membership Badges offer unique opportunities, including:
- One-on-one and group interviews with Guests of Honor and performers
- Access to a private Press Stage area within the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center
- Reserved seating at select events during the convention
Eligible outlets encompass broadcast media, print media, web-based media (audio, video, or written), freelance press contributing to established outlets, and student media fitting the above categories. To qualify, outlets must demonstrate a minimum of one year’s regular activity.
Content Creator Membership Badges
Tailored for individuals who regularly produce audio/visual content across multiple social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, Content Creator Membership Badges provide:
- Opportunities to interview Guests of Honor and performers
- Access to the private Press Stage area within the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center
Applicants should have at least one year of consistent posting activity on one or more of their submitted channels.
Application Process
Interested individuals must complete separate applications for each member of their outlet. Upon submission, applicants will receive a confirmation email. If approved, a subsequent email will confirm the registration status, detailing whether the badge is complimentary or paid, along with essential convention information. It’s important to note that prior approval does not guarantee future approvals, and complimentary badges are privileges granted by the Midwest Animation Promotion Society (MAPS), which reserves the right to deny applications at any point.
Anti-Harassment Policy
ACen maintains a strict anti-harassment policy. Creators or outlets producing “comedy” or “shock” content that violates this policy will not be approved. Approved members or outlets found engaging in harassment or inappropriate behavior will face permanent bans and future disapprovals.
