About Hiroyasu Kobayashi
Born in 1972 and originally from Niigata Prefecture, Hiroyasu Kobayashi entered the visual media industry as a matte painter before transitioning to a CG artist, later joining Studio khara.
Starting with Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone. (2007, directed by Hideaki Anno), Kobayashi has worked as a CGI Director and contributed to design work, including monitor display designs. In Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time (2021, directed by Hideaki Anno), he served as CGI Art Director.
He has also directed Studio khara productions such as Cassette Girl, the 35th episode of the web animation series Japan Animator Expo (Studio khara/Dwango), and Studio khara’s 10th-anniversary animation, Ōkina Kabu (Kabu) / The Big Turnip (Inc.).
Additionally, he has contributed as a director and designer to various projects, including the Gravity Daze / Gravity Rush game series, Shin Godzilla, Promare, Honkai / Houkai Impact 3rd [Reburn: II], THE iDOLM@STER Series Concept Movie 2021 VOY@GER, Shin Ultraman, and Shin Kamen Rider.
Most recently, he has been involved in the theatrical pre-release version of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-, set to premiere in January 2025.
