Cowboy Bebop vs Samurai Champloo

Recommended Posts

I've recently watched these two back to back and in order, which is atypical since I normally throw each show on random and watch whatever episodes come up.

But as I'm finishing up Bebop, I've come to the conclusion that Samurai Champloo out Bebop's the Bebop crew. So I'm legitimately curious to find out if there is anyone else out there who feels the same way. I'd be interested in breaking down the minute of each show and compare how each one does what and if either does it better. What do you all think?

At what? The Bebop crew have much more interesting back stories and interactions. Jin's whole character is cookie-cutter, from his ronin backstory to his personality. Fuu is a helpless damsel in distress. Mugen is basically a breakdancing, samurai Spike minus any charisma or relevant backstory. The show is, at best, an average parody of samurai films/shows. They share almost nothing in common with the Bebop cast and story.
