Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Recommended Posts

Has anyone downloaded this demo? I just spent the past hour watching my husband play it on the PS3 and it looks like it's going to be pretty great. :D Any other impressions? Also, if you play the demo you get a Mass Effect 3 bonus item of some sort, when that comes out. (I don't remember what it was - not interested in ME3.)

I got the chance to mess around with it today. It reminds me of the Fable games, though with combat akin to hack-and-slash games like Devil May Cry. I still can't believe the studio that made this was founded by Curt Schilling.

I believe the items you get are some kind of weapon and an armor designed after one of the armors in Reckoning.

I checked it out for a few minutes on my PC. I'm not sure if it was cause I had to turn my graphics down a little (having them up to high made the screen go black, though I could hear sounds), but i felt the graphics were a bit...ehh. i dunno.

I'll have ot play some more to see what the actual game play is like.

Yeah, it was pretty glitchy, but I bet (hope) that's ironed out by now. I recall someone's head leaving a bad-trip vapor trail, but I thought the actual world graphics were stunning. Have to say, I saw McFarlane and Salvatore and had a little squee moment. Perhaps I'm biased.

Yeah, I did really like the art style of the game. Another feature I think was neat was the Destinies system which really seems to get away from min-maxing. I like how you can legitimately be a jack of all trades and not be gimped.
