A midnight release of what and what area?

midnight releases can be fun. I usually go about an hour early both to talk to random people and sometimes sign up for a position in line (depending on how big the game release is). I remember Halo 3 had about 300+ people at the midnight release by me.

I've done a couple. They're kinda boring to go to alone. Sometimes you get some cool people to talk to, but its harder to engage in conversation as a lone person. Usually if its just me, I swing by right at midnight, grab my game and head out.

Since the thread's title and first post doesn't indicate any specific game, let's dedicate this thread to all past and upcoming Gamestop midnight releases.

See you each and every week, folks! :balloons:

The Arkham Asylum release was boring as heck. Called it "Midnight Mayhem" they did. there was very little/ no mayhem. So if you are a fan of standing around a shop for a few hours close to silently then by all means go. Maybe the gamestop in my area is just lame : /

The midnight release for NBA 2K11 was L-A-M-E at my boyfriend's store... I'm not one for sports games anyway, but they hardly had any money given to them to support the release. I hope that Batman: AA will get a higher budget and more interest, it does look like a lot more people will be attending. Should be fun regardless.

I would think that the company of GameStop, not the stores themselves, would put a little more "spectacular" or "POW!" into their midnight sales. Hell, people come way out for a game they could easily get in the morning or later in the month.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm ranting, I cannot wait for Batman but I don't like it when the midnight sales are a bust.

Midnight releases vary on goodness depending on your area. Our our NBA 2k12 launch was pretty good since the line went around the store and out the door. But that's because our area is well... "basketball people". I started working at Gamestop in April and I only did 3 midnights. Madden was not too big and so was GoW3. That's because everyone is their right mind in my area is either all about sports or Call of Duty. Some areas have it better, some areas are just simple.

Call of Duty will be huge at almost every Gamestop because it's "The Big One". We got over 600+ reserves here so we're bracing for impact. We're gonna try and see if we can do an outdoor projector with CoD:MW2 or Black Ops and have some army men walking around.

Don't expect much at a Midnight unless you got a huge titles such as Call of Duty or Halo.

I would say it depends on the game and your location. I went at midnight for Marvel VS Capcom 3 at some Gamestop here on the far south side, and it was extremely chill, and I went with two other people to pick it up. I guess it was chill because the 4 other people that were also there buying were stoned as all get out, but it still was a fun adventure...and playing MvC3 til 3 am. :3

The GameStop by my house usually have food for Midnight releases, but I'm not sure if I'm going to the Batman Arkham City release. I'll rather be sleeping than standing out in the cold. Plus that store is really small.

So I live in Green Bay, Wisconsin and I am going to be going to the midnight release of Battlefield 3, is anyone else going to the gamestop in green bay? I really don't want to go alone and it would be nice to talk to someone about the same stuff as I like.

Went ahead and got Batman anyways. Well, K-Mart has a deal where if you bought it, you would get a $30 voucher towards an upcoming game. Couldn't resist.

I am hoping my GS do something for old repulbic midnight, granted the eurly pass may have everyone playing already but it will be nice for some star wars stuff.

I'm just ready for the client download. Can't get here soon enough...though not like I don't have other things to play in the meantime.
