ACEN Cosplay Fitness thread!

While I ate a lot of bad (for you, but good tasting) food at ACen, I did run 3 out of the 4 days I was at ACen! Anyone else get a good work out (aside from walking around Donald E. Stephens/Hyatt for panels, lol)?

You ran? In that weather? O__o

I got lots of exercise on Saturday when I wore my thigh high stiletto boots. Try walking around on tip toes all day and you will feel it in your legs for sure the next day!

I didn't work out at ACen aside from walking everywhere, but I didn't gain any weight at ACen. I haven't really checked, but I probably did lose a little weight since I didn't really eat much there since I drove back and forth so I couldn't bring tons of food in my bag.

But my cosplay fit well, and I see everyone is very happy with their results which is awesome!!! I was looking at some pictures I found of me and I was very happy with what I looked like. I still have a little more to lose on my tummy as well but I feel by the time and how hardcore (diet wise) I'm going to be since I'll be home with real food (not gross school cafeteria food O_______o) I'll be losing more. :)

And I know we will all keep it up for 2013!!! Hopefully we can keep this thread going since there is a lot of awesome information/great tips from everyone that everyone can use ^_^.

ACen fitness for 2012 a success for all us this year??

I SAY HECK YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Both Friday and Saturday I suited up in a hoody, Thursday IIRC wasn't bad. Friday I ran from Hyatt to All-State Arena (real adrenaline kick I suppose) then Saturday I ran from Hyatt to McDonalds and back. Sunday morning, packing, the night before, and lots of other crazy stuff. Lol

Sickness and weather has totally derailed my workout attempts this year so far. Frustrating.

I understand. It's unfortunate this stuff happens. :P

Definitely didn't workout at all over ACen! ^ Never even thought about running whatsoever. Those few days off I took were kind of a blessing though. Because I was so rested, I came back way stronger than I was before. Now that I'm back in my groove, it's time to get even more shredded y'all!

Whatever junk food I've eaten doesn't seem to stick to my body now but I should still try and avoid it. Dropped down to 170lbs. I would post photos but, yeah. Not going to.

Lost another 4 pounds and my cankles at con (plus whatever the number actually winds up at once I'm done hocking up the Temple of Doom here). Gonna stick with the Jillian pills, since my metabolism FINALLY got the kick in the face it needed, and those things actually keep me awake after my morning round of 'em (a priorly impossible thing before noon). Down to the next 10 marker on my new scale (finally got it the week or so before con), in just under 2 weeks between a restarted metabolism & running about like a chicken without a head, so hopefully hitting the next 3 10 markers won't be so bad.

I'm just excited because, for the first tim in my life, I was finally able to fit in h.naoato / Sixh designs -- AND I was able to comfortably wear & get a pair of IBI's pants. :3

Yeah the rest from ACen helped me especially when it came to brain power too. :3 I got to relax at ACen and not think about it and I studied a little bit at night but I totally came back super strong on Monday to take my finals and the final I had on 8AM on Monday that I was freaking out about, TOTALLY GOT AN A! HOLLLLAAAAAAH!! Kinda proves that just a little bit of rest can really make you come back stronger than before! Whether it's your brain, muscles, metabolism...I didn't even know that I would come back strong like that as I did. And I didn't work out at the con, tried to run today (first time working out again since the con and finals week >.<) and I totally cranked out three miles super easily. I think we all will come back super strong for 2013!!!!!!!!!!!! HECK YEAH

I walked around in four inch platform spike heels all weekend, all day. I didn't realize it was such a work out until I couldn't walk right for about three days after con.

Going to go pay my gym membership today and work out again though...I've slacked off after con and feel crappy again. @.@

It didn't help that Nouse brought me brownies....

I had it for most part easier than others with walking, but yes if you did wear spike heels, heels in general, or carry heavy armor, then I think you did get an ACen work out, lol.

I just signed up for Half-Madness in Batavia (I think I mentioned it sometime last year in this thread too, haha.) I have to get myself ready for the Chicago Marathon so what better way then to run the half-marathon and get myself ready for a full one! Who's with me?!? #TeamBringIt (I know this isn't Twitter, but I'll hashtag all I want to!)

STVO! Good luck with your half-marathon! You are strooooooong if you can do that. I envy your stamina and body's strength to endure that! :D.

I went running today and it was great until the blisters on my feel burst >___> they hurt. :P So it's all elliptical tomorrow! The one I have has these little half balls on the bottom of it so you have to keep your balance. And when you suck in your core with it....WHOOOOAH. So hard and awesome workout. I love watching Ghost in the Shell while doing it, helps keep me going. :3 I'm going to start doing doubles again. I'll probably start doing two elliptical rounds per day and when my blisters heal do running twice a day again like I did last year before I was hospitalized. But my paleolithic diet is back in full swing again and it feels awesome. Just after three days I feel I have so much more energy than when I was more laxed with the amount of carbs in my diet.

I attempted! But didn't commit to it. That's my problem...hehe...

But now that I have a goal for cosplaying Rin Kagamine (which isn't very revealing, but won't look right on the right body) I'll have to go from this to about maybe this? (one of my favorite cosplayers EVER!) I plan to commit! I WILL COMMIT THIS YEAR!

Ugh! Sorry to hear your blisters burst on you. That s**t hurts!

I've started doing interval cycling as a way to avoid those things until I can afford proper footwear. I hope I find a better job soon, though. I know cycling is a good work out but I feel like I'm doing less because I'm sitting down....intervals or not.

Believe it or not, cycling is an awesome workout. What's great about it is that 1. It's not high impact so if you have bad joints/legs/etc you dont have to risk them and 2. You actually work a lot of your body cycling. :) if you specifically bend over enough on the bike and "suck-in" your abs (everyone has them lol) and its a great core/ab workout too! So you're really not doing less sitting down. :3

I finally achieved 48 minutes on the elliptical! My legs Hurt soooooo bad! And I think im getting sick too >_> so I feel all weak and stuff. I guess that's what happens when you don't sleep much xD.

Woo, starting a fitness regimen for 2013 cosplay.

I went weight-lifting with a buddy last night... can't believe how out-of-shape I've gotten since my high school days. >.<

I probably should defintely see a doctor very soon to make sure i'm cleared for going harder at the gym, cuz this less intense stuff I'm doing is too boring. Been really lax, and I want to kick it up a notch.

Keep it up everyone! Spring/Summer is the best time to get in shape because the weather is so nice. Just keep hydrated and have fun!

I ran a bit today, but I have yet to run non-stop on my circuit. It is hard but I hope to be able to run the whole time(about 2 miles), and maybe after than to run around my circuit twice! There is a lake in my neighborhood that has a great path around it. I have been running around it three times a week since March.

^ Nice! That is awesome! Keep it up!!!

I've been feeling better, and the antibiotic is helping (it better be regarding how huge this horsepill I gotta take it. BLECH!) but I'm going to run tomorrow and hit it hard again! I think I'm still gonna eat a little more carbs than usual (complex ones though) since I'm still fighting an infection--need cheap energy. :3 But I've been recently running 5 miles total and also doing sprints up this hill that I run to. It's hard but so rewarding. And I'm SO GLAD my legs aren't getting buff they're toning. Thank goodness last year I had to almost buy new jeans since my quads got so big O_______o.

I am determine to get to a flatter stomach again.!!! But the bigger challenge will be keeping it flat during the winter time and keeping the weight off.
