Any video game collectors out there?

Recommended Posts

I was kinda surprised not to find a topic about this, besides the point I was curious if anyone here collects (and plays of course lol) video games. I became a pretty big collector myself after being inspired by Petedorr's channel on youtube. I like to think I have a impressive ps2 collection (180+ games) but I was just curious if anyone else here is a collector. I put my gaming buys on youtube too so if anyone is interested just type in Nightridergamer on youtube.

Thanks for reading :zombie:

Ah, I'd love to start collecting games. I may do so after college.

Lots of people do that and thats really cool man I hope you do :) If you even wanna learn more about collecting or some cool games in general i would recommend petedorr's. happyconsolegamer's, or gamester81's youtube channel. They all do collecting stuff.

I guess I'm a bit of a collector, but I don't intend to really. I just buy games that I wanna play and keep the ones I love. If they suck, off they go.

I mostly collect figmas and doujinshi than video games, but I do like to get rare stuff and stuff that most normal gamers wouldn't get.

Like now pre ordered three PSP games and hope that gamestop doesn't open them/remove the wrapper and attempt to sell them as 'new' like they did with the YGO tag 5 game that I got >.< It was the only place besides ebay that had the game AND the cards. Yeah I wanted it just for the collection cards...

I think after losing DBZ GT final bout english copy when it was around 700 dollars because of my parents being kicked out kinda made me not collect games as hardcore anymore

I still want 999 ds lite game with the watch

I collect games for PC, PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance. I own about 450-500, with a running list of what I hope to buy. There are about 250 on that list, so I try to knock out about 50 of those a year, plus any new games I want.

I really like my collection. :3

For the record, Daikatana was a gag gift from a friend, and the only reason I hold onto Ehrgeiz is DUNGEON MODE.

I thought I was the only one who liked that game Ehrgeiz.

On the topic: THIS It's missing the rare Pikachu DS lite though among other systems that were exclusive to Japan.

I have ~200 games I've collected over the years. Most are PS2, PS3, Xbox, & Xbox 360 (+ downloads from the PSN if you want to count those). A few N64 still exist but rarely get played anymore. There are a couple Xbox1 games I haven't beaten yet, I admit, but the rest have been played through at least 2 times each. Probably my most played series is Ratchet & Clank.

I wouldn't really call myself a collector, but I also never get rid of my games. I've amassed quite a number of games for the more recent systems. I have a good number of games for my older systems, but I've practically given them to my parents at this point since they still play them and I can easily just use my computer to play them.

Right now the numbers are as follows:

Dreamcast- 19

DS- 62

Game Boy Advance- 14 (low because I lost a number of these somehow T_T)

GameCube- 23

Nintendo 64- 43

PlayStation- 23

PlayStation 2- 125

PlayStation 3- 25

PSP- 34

Wii- 25

Xbox- 9

Xbox 360- 72

I do have a Game.com and a dozen games for it. Not sure if that makes me a collector or just a sad person. I also lost all of my Game Gear games and the majority of my Game Boy games. I don't have a good history when it comes to my handhelds (made some friends happy though).

I guess I "collected" NES games by mistake. XD I've been trying to get rid of them, but it's not exactly a seller's market right now.

If you live in chicago try Play and go in Scottsdale ford city. They buy NES games. There is also a three system retro that play NES/SNES/Genesis games.

You can also sell your old NES games on ebay or a dealer, especially if you have rare ones. Look them up before you do though so you don't get scammed.

If you don't want to sell them it's super easy to play them ^_^

haha well Ive started a pretty good collection of ps2 games. Tho I only have 20 or so but their worth is over 350. I work at a used game/movie store so we get tons of cool and rare games and I get to use a discount so my collection with only grow from here :3

I'm a bit of a collector. But it's mainly systems with the amount of games varying widely from system to system. I've got two ColecoVisions, an Atari 2600, Commodore 64, Original NES, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, PSone (US edition), PSone (Japan edition), PS2, Xbox 360, Original Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy DS, and a PSP.

Has anyone else here have owned multiple copies of one system but had to keep selling them off because of money troubles? I think in my college career I've owned 4~5 PS2's selling each one to help pay bills and then buying another later on.

it was one of those gifts your mom gets but has no idea what kind of game you like

so after an hour of playing it sat in its case for about 2 years before i got bored of rpgs

and wanted some mindless fun

or was it that i was sick that day

.

..

...

and tripping on cough syrup

still not my kind of game admittedly

Knives, I hate you for having Suikoden 2. lol

I try to collect as best as I can, but many factors tend to have me sell some when I don't want to. >_< But my collection is building back up again finally. Good times. lol
