What's Next On Your Anime List?

Well I have been busy since end of con.

Finished:

Legend of Lemnear - okay story but felt like it was an excuse for showing boobs

Legend of the Last Labyrinth (Princess Rouge) - I'm guessing it was a school class project thing (in Japan). Incomplete for that reason.

Lost Universe - Based on an alternate Slayers universe. A fair story, but is a really good example for the sub vs dub thread arguments about really really BAD dubs. I got a big clue when I noticed at least one of the English version voice actors listed themselves as "George Spelvin," which is a name used by actors who don't want their own name used. 'nuff said.

Kekko Kamen - Came as part of a bundle pack. The less said the better. Yes it involves boobs. And more. Not to be taken seriously.

Venus Versus Virus - <sigh> I get rather tired of these "Divergence Eve" type stories where in the end the main characters cease to exist and vanish from everyone's memory...

Just starting Planetes - good so far and I like some of the touches of humor (like what that temp worker is *really* wearing under her plain smock/dress...) Some parts are pretty lame though too. Mixed. We shall see.

And yes, for the first time in my life I have a DVD on pre-order. A little something called Panty & Stocking...

We could make a whole topic on "just another excuse to see boobs" anime... -_-

I'm not even sure what to put on my next to watch list.

I'm finishing up Mirai Nikki and Persona 4 the Animation and Rewatching Neon Genesis Evangelion (series. movies, rebuild) for the 6th time . I never get tired of Eva.

Alot of Anime that is out today just isn't so appealing to me anymore, it's either nothing but boobs, moe bull crap or just really uninteresting, I tired K-on, I couldn't make it past the opening, I watched to-love ru the 2nd season was garbage, Rosario + Vampire , The Animated Adaptation was horrible to me. I'm mostly looking for older series to watch or rather really obscure titles, Like

okay so maybe I can make a list of to watch Anime (rather watched a couple of eps.. really liked but didn't finish list )

- Dirty Pair Flash

-Gun Smith Cats

-Robotech Macross Saga

- ShadowStar Narutaru

-Magic Night rayearth

-Urusei Yastaru

-Best Student Council

-Guyver

-Get Backers

Any recommendation anyone ? maybe I'm just having a hard time finding new anime that is good but you've guys found some that is actually appealing .

Actually I'm currently watching Best Student Council. I'm 17 episodes in. It's funny, it's charming, it's entertaining. Is it as good as School Rumble or Azumanga Daioh, not quite, but close. Still if you want to have a really good time with an anime, this one is definitely worth the watch. :)

Yesterday I rewatched Summer Wars, I absolutely love that movie, and if any of you have never seen it, than you need to stop, and go get it! You won't regret it.

In the last few weeks I've watched a few anime's. Right before Best Student Council I saw the entire Gunslinger Girl series, including the OVA's. Before that I watched Kanon, twice. What I mean is that I watched Kanon with both dubs, watching each episode twice before moving on to the next. A little crazy, but Kanon is very high on my list, so I absolutely still loved it as much as I did the first time. ^_^ Before that I watched the 2 episode OVA Puni Puni Poemy, and that one left me all dizzy with it's craziness. :P

If you watched Kanon / I assume you mean Kanon 2006 right? Not the first Animation ? But even so if you liked that Studio Key did another one called Air tv which is even more heart wrenching than Kanon and the 3 main females of Kanon make a cameo appaerance in Air tv . Plus since you like Monica Rial so much she is the voice of the main female Misuzu Kamio

Recently been watching Hikaru no Go (for the umpteenth time). Between "Hikaru no Go Day" (5/5) and the first anniversary of Tomoko Kawakami's death coming up, I was suddenly feeling nostalgic, and since I practically have it memorized anyway, it's good background noise while I work on things. Might rewatch Chrono Crusade as well. Also saw that Tactics was on Hulu, so maybe once I can pay more attention I'll finally check that one out (all I know is that it's by the person responsible for Mythical Detective Loki - anyone have an opinion on this one?).

Other than that I've been keeping up with Tsuritama, Sket Dance, and Kids on the Slope.

I have Air, I love Air, but sorry Kanon is so much better, my opinion. I do love the show, and I love Monica's performance, but to me Kanon was the much better story, and yes, sorry I forget, but that is indeed Kanon 2006. I think the original is hard to find retail, I would love to see it, but it seems hard to find ^_^

I agree. Kanon is a better story and I enjoy it more, I just find Air tv to be more sad. studio Key loves making their viewers cry. ...oh Angel Beats

No doubt, Kanon will make you shed a lot of tears.

Just finished Best Student Council. Great stuff, loved it, not quite as good as School Rumble or Azumanga Daioh, but pretty darn close. Highly recommended. ^_^

Next up....Rumbling Hearts.

I finished Mirai Nikki yesterday. It was pretty good, I'm 2 eps away from Persona 4 the Animation and..I'll go back to more oldschool shows because nothing new seems interesting. I might start Gun Smith Cats or Robotech the Macross Saga

Well, I'm now in a bind. I just finished most everything I had in my to do pile except for El Hazard the Wanderers which I seem to have misplaced...

But here goes:

I just completed Kanon (copyright 2008) and it was a good one. Recommended. Noticed I think they only "rewrote" one conversation (based on the dub vs sub) that was going into masculine/feminine/formal Japanese word usages (eg boku/atashi/watashi).

Popotan - was interesting. Lots of boobs and nips (not to mention a seduction) for something you'd think was aimed at 12-year olds... But then again it's Japanese where the audience is about 5 years "ahead" of US audiences... Sort of an interesting story. I kept thinking of the Doctor but with a Tardis that decided when and where it was going all the time.

Blue Drop - Another decent one. Although I wish I knew how many survived and their stories after the invasion...

Now to order more...

(edited due to a fat-finger typo...)

Kids on the Slope finished today and it is not the best show of the season, nor of the year, nor one of the best anime shows it is simply one of the best TV programs.

Just finished Kimi ni Todoke and it was alright, but Sawako kind of had a Tohru Honda complex.

No idea what to watch next.

I am soooo far behind in updating my what I have watched list....

Did of course do the Panty and Stocking series. I think they did a pretty decent job in the English dub.

Have also completed:

Samurai Girls - interesting how history changed... one of those alternate universe things where the Tokugawa clan still holds power even today.

Zone of the Enders

Magikano - <sigh>

another "time loop" thing

Sands of Destruction

Yumeria - kinda lame

Welcome to the NHK

Now starting Vandread

Not sure how much more "battle between the sexes" humor I can take...

Onward!

Just finished Shion no Ou. I'm not sure what I feel like I'm in the mood to watch. Maybe Red Garden? Yeah, that's what I'll do while I'm waiting for the next episode of Pokemon Best Wishes.

Oh yeah... watched the Rave Master series (all of one year...) too. Talk about dragging a story out to fill a TV season... got nowhere.

Currently watching "Mirai Nikki/The Future Dairy". (Thank you based Hulu).

It's actually pretty damn good. Yuno's one crazy butt girl. But after that series, I do not know what I'm going to watch next. Maybe Tiger and Bunny.

Ooooo been a while since I updated...

Let's see:

Finished Vandread series

Ouran High School Host Club (about time, heh?)

Tenchi Muyo Ryo Ohki (an oldie that I somehow missed)

Sekirei Season 1

Nurse Witch Komugi (now I'm going to have to get Soul Taker since the characters were adapted/"reimagined" from that...)

Part way through Romeo x Juliet but it's a tough one to watch cuz you know the ending already

A glooming peace this morning with it brings, the sun, for sorrow, will not show his head.

Go hence, and have more talk of these sad things,

Some will be pardoned, and some punished, for ne're was there a tale of more woe, than this of Juliet and her Romeo. Yes I have it memorized...

Also was loaned Psychic Detective Yakumo that I'm working through (subtitle only)

And I just got a pile more....

Been a while since my last update as well:

Finished up Gankutsuou a week or so ago (7 years after I watched it in a really awkward format due to school), really enjoyed it quite a lot. Also working to finish up the latest Natsume Yuujinchou (only 2 episodes left for me). Last show I finished is Kids on the Slope, one of the best shows I have seen in a long long time.

Currently in the process of watching Shiki at anime club, the only one of four shows I have not seen.

What next? Most likely Nodame Cantabile Finale and maybe some anime that my friends have been trying to get me to watch...

Well, not exactly anime, but anime inspired... Did watch the first Death Note live action movie,

and I admit I'm a bit slow at the moment so I've only finished:

Y's I and II (pronounced "eees")

Okami-san and Her Seven Companions.

And I did finish Psychic Detective Yakumo that I mentioned last post.

So much anime, so little time...

I am soooo far behind....

But got through:

Sekirei: Pure Engagement (Season 2)

Princess Resurrection

Dang nab it, judging from the last scene in the last episode it may have all been a dream...

Vampire Knight Season 1

Magic User's Club "complete series" (another oldie)

Zaion: I wish you were here.

Heroic Age - Note: I almost passed on this series due to a crappy-sounding description, but it's actually pretty good. The VA and production staff list on the English version reads like a Who's Who of anime industry greats. Best of all the opening theme is sung by angela! One of my faves.

A non-anime I snuck in was Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Season 1. I forgot how lame it was...

A friend of mine showed me some clips from Black Lagoon. I have seen some scattered clips here and there before (and watched it briefly at ACen a few years ago when it had its US release), but never in any quantity.

It looks like a cross between HOTD, Angel Cop and Gunsmith Cats, so...yeah, I'm sold.
