  1. Type Moon/Fate 2015

Yeah, I figured the same as far as time went. Ahhh I'd love to, but I probably won't be able to. It's usually too difficult to get away from my table at that time and I don't want to make any commitments I can't keep. =( Not to mention I won't be in Fate cosplay that day anyway.
  2. Type Moon/Fate 2015

Yeah, I disappeared, sorry. 9PM is great for me, actually. Since I'm not going to the concert, that should give me enough time to go eat after the Alley and freshen up my hair and makeup so I don't look too frazzled from the day. =) As for Saber Lion, I just let her know when this is. She really wants to try and make it and will probably change into Saber before the concert, but she also has a panel to run at 10pm, so it might be tight. She also hasn't decided which version of Saber she's bringing yet, but I'm trying to convince her to bring Lion. XD Edit: Removed this last comment because I realized that roserosered08 is who I was referring to. Stop having usernames I don't know! XD
  3. Final Fantasy (2015)

I will most likely be pulling Rinoa out of retirement. If not, I'll be a White Mage. =)
  4. Type Moon/Fate 2015

Awesome! And yes, they're friends! I don't know what the Saber's plans are yet, but our Saber Lion may or may not since another of our friends has snagged her to do another cosplay. If she does, I'm also not sure if she'll bring Lion or another version. She'll be in the AA, too, though. Hm, do you think 6pm might be too early since AA usually closes at 6:30?
  5. Legend of Zelda

I'm all for Saturday, providing I can get away from my Artist Alley table at the time. I'll be Hyrule Warriors Zelda on Saturday (most likely) and I'll have a Cia with me as well. =D
  6. Type Moon/Fate 2015

I'll be Rin from Fate/Stay Night, most likely on Friday. Since I'm in the Artist Alley, I may or may not be able to make something during the daytime when the AA is open. SargentJY, were you the person with whom I talked about this at Uchi-con? I was the Rin in the Artist Alley.
  7. 2014 Guest Feedback

Being in the Artist Alley and running panels made it difficult to go to the events I wanted, and I had panels that directly conflicted with both Final Fantasy concerts and so I couldn't go to those. My husband did get to go to the Saturday concert, however, and he LOVED it (but then we've been to all of the Distant Worlds shows in Chicago so far, too, if that says anything, haha). I do have to mention something bad about his experience in the ticket line, though. When he was in line to get his ticket, one of the staff members sent him on ahead and when he got to the next section he was treated by the next staff members like he was trying to sneak in. Even after confirming with the original staff member that it was OK, they still treated him like he did something wrong. =/ I made absolutely sure I got to see angela, though, and it was amazing!! I have to apologize if my friend and I put anyone out with all of our jumping around and spazzing out during the whole thing. =P
  8. Is RamenCon artist alley worth doing?

I've done Ramencon since their first year (minus 2012 since I couldn't get out of work) and they are great. I'm friends with the people who run it and they're willing to go above and beyond for their artists. The Alley itself is fairly small (the venue is small to begin with, though) with probably around 15 artists (give or take). I only know of one other mailer that has attended, but there is usually a fair variety of artists. I've done very well there myself, even in their very first year, and they're growing very fast.
  9. 12 Days of ACen Contests

Why are we getting less than 3 full days for the art contest, at the beginning of the week? There are people who are working full time, have school...I mean, finals are this week and next for a lot of universities. Couldn't the deadline extend at least to the end of the 12 Days promotion so it includes a weekend in there? =/
  10. Rosemont Theatre

I agree with that the band was too loud. They did drown out the vocals pretty badly at times, especially with the bass being pumped up so high - there were times that was all I could hear. Afterward I could hear but it was kind of muffled for awhile.
  11. Takahiro Sakurai

Yes! I was actually going to make a post about him yesterday along with my others but I didn't have time! He is also the voice of Cloud in everything Final Fantasy VII or Kingdom Hearts where he has a voice and my personal favourite is Rimudo/Uruki in the Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden drama CDs and visual novel game! =D
  12. Tomokazu Seki

I would love to see Tomokazu Seki come to ACen. He is a Japanese seiyuu who has quite the list of notable roles: Chichiri - Fushigi Yuugi Gilgamesh - Fate/Stay Night Archer - Fate/Zero Kamui Shirou - X Shuuichi Shindou - Gravitation Kenji - Pokemon Ginei Morioka - Rosario + Vampire Touya Kinomoto - Card Captor Sakura Alexander Howell - Ayashi no Ceres/Ceres, Celestial Legend Hiromu Shinbo - Chobits Van Fanel - Escaflowne (Movie and TV) Keisuke Takahashi - Initial D Haru - Rave Master Junpei Ryuzoj - Those Who Hunt Elves Ken Hidaka - Weiß Kreuz/Knight Hunters He has also done voice over work for non-Japanese games and live action movies for the Japanese localizations such as Ezio Auditore in Assassin's Creed and Will Rodman in Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
  13. I would love to see Maaya Sakamoto at ACen. I know it's a long shot, but I know she would be a pretty big draw (not to mention she is my favourite female seiyuu). Not only has she done voices in many popular anime and video games but she is also an accomplished singer-songwriter having worked with Yoko Kanno many times. She performs in both Japanese and English. Many might recognize her as: Hitomi - The Vision of Escaflowne & Escaflowne: The Movie Ciel Phantomhive - Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler Aerith Gainsborough - Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (movie), FFVII: Crisis Core & Kingdom Hearts Aura - .hack series Tomoyo - Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE Chrona - Soul Eater Leaf - Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight Kiyomi Takada - Death Note Hamona - Wolf's Rain Shiki Ryougi - Kara no Kyoukai/The Garden of Sinners And many more. She has also performed music, particularly the opening and ending themes as well as insert songs for: Escaflowne (TV and movie) Wolf's Rain Record of Lodoss War: Chronicles of the Heroic Knight Last Exile Card Captor Sakura Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE Arjuna and again, lots more.

    1. I don't think you chose the wrong band at all. For me, personally, I couldn't have been happier with the choice since Kalafina is my favourite Japanese group. When they were announced I had to keep myself from shouting out loud at work! Kalafina is pretty popular, but as far as the U.S. goes, their fanbase could be bigger and I think part of it is just that many who would love them don't know about them. You mentioned marketing later on and I think that you could have marketed the band better with the existing ACen crowd along with reaching outside. Just posting their bio and reminding people about ticket sales wasn't enough, I think. Regularly posting music samples, videos, etc. (within legal boundaries, of course) would have helped introduce them to more of those who don't know them, or make it more known that the music from a series they like is done by that group (like Kuroshitsuji or Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica). Also pushing their ties to other known names like their composer Kajiura Yuki and her other known works might have helped, too. Those who like the music from the .hack series or Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle might give them a try based on that. 2. I think the ticket prices were VERY fair. I get that a lot of people are struggling to have enough money just to attend the con so a paid concert is out for them, and that may have hurt the sales. $30 for a front section seat to see a group like Kalafina is an amazing bargain, though. 3. Friday is probably better than Saturday, unless the concert was held earlier in the day. Otherwise it would run into too many huge events that some people would probably take over a paid concert, esp. events that you have to get in line super early for. 4. See my comments in #1. Maybe in the future you could also give extra perks for buying a ticket. Nothing that would ruin the attempt at offsetting cost. For instance autographs were guaranteed for ticket holders, but maybe attendees could receive a special edition ACen and band-themed keychain or poster that is specific to the con. Many people who might be on the fence about going might choose to do so for something cool like that. I noticed a few others mentioned offering tickets to non-con goers which might help, too. I'm sure there are plenty of people who would have gone to the concert but couldn't afford a badge and ticket (like mentioned above) or can't attend the whole con because of prior obligations like work. Perhaps opening it up to non-badge holders would pull in more of an audience. You could open up priority sales to badge holders and then after like a month open them to the public.
  15. Aidan Turner

I like Aidan, but I don't think he's an appropriate guest for ACen. He'd be a great suggestion for something like C2E2, GenCon or another general geek culture con, but he has nothing to do with anime, manga, games, or Japanese music or culture at all, which is the core of ACen.
