Way too many things interest me. I am addicted to all things fun.
  1. Pre-registration is Open!

I had one quick question about the registration process. Do we have to create a new ACen registration account every year to buy our weekend passes? I opened my account from last year and it wouldn't allow me to purchase a ticket for this 2015's ACen. I have no problem creating the new account but I just wanted to know if there was a way for us to use the same account each year. If you could give me a quick response I would greatly appreciate since I cannot wait to buy my weekend pass for this kick-butt convention. Thanks.
  2. Hello, I am new to the forum but I have attended ACen for the past four years. This coming year will be the first that I will fully cosplay in and I am having trouble finding out the exact regulations for how big I can make my wings. I have a flair for the dramatic and I want my wings to be a fairly large size that covers my back and goes down to my knees but I cannot tell from the cosplay policy if that is allowed. The wings will be able to move for pictures but I plan to keep them close to my body while inside so they will not hit anyone as I am walking by. I have emailed ACen but I have not gotten a reply yet so I wanted to ask you seasoned cosplayers for help. Do any of you know what the exact limits are? I would thoroughly appreciate any response from you since I don't want to make these huge wings only to be told that I cannot wear them to the convention. Cannot wait for ACen 2014
  3. What was your first cosplay?

My first attempt at dressing up for ACen happened last year when I attended in a homemade Lolita dress. For some reason, I decided to crochet the dress instead of sewing with fabric since I am really good at crocheting. I spent about six months on it and had to veto many parts from my original sketch since my large size did not allow for the curves that I was going for. The final product was okay and I was satisfied with it until I realized the temperature that day was going to be in the 80's and I was wearing basically 50lbs. of thick yarn. I made it through the day but when I looked at pictures of myself in the dress, I was sourly disappointed. I have now vowed to never do that again. But it was a good learning experience. Now I have a great sewing machine and I plan on making a costume that won't bog me down in the heat.
