  1. 5 reasons why I'm not attending this year

Just to tack on to ADA. As far as Panel Programming if anyone ever has issues getting into a panel or staff does not honor the pass please come to our office ASAP and we will make sure to get this addressed right away.
  2. ETA on 2016 Panel Schedule?

Its just called Guidebook. https://guidebook.com/getit/ Keep in mind we do not publish final Guidebook and digital copies until right near the convention.
  3. Just to answer this so everyone knows even though its an old thread before I close it... We got the new system this year so dates had to be changed, as for Panels, we still had the same end approval times. With a new system there are quite a few moving parts not just related to Panels with the badge systems. We only announce things via social media once we are SURE we have things locked in place and ready to go. Sadly, Forums are not the best spots for announcements anymore just because of number of people who visit/check them and staff being volunteers many do not get into "ACen" mode until much closer to con.
  4. Ouran High School Host Panel

Its only the Panel schedule. All Panelist were emailed that link in an email blast along with dates/times for their panel. It went to Head Panelists. So just a reminder: No other events are on here yet, its purely panels only which times/dates will not change.
  5. ETA on 2016 Panel Schedule?

Keep in mind this is Panels and does not include every event. Such as guests, autographs, etc.
  6. ETA on 2016 Panel Schedule?

Schedules have gone out to Panelist and everything is being finalized for publishing. Keep an eye on the ACen Facebook Page / Main Website for the official announcement and links.
  7. Wifi in Panel Rooms?

Wifi is not provided by ACen in any official capacity but is offered by Rosemont Convention Center. It is not fast or reliable by any means. Some people will utilize Hotspots/Mifi's but the signal quality of those goes way down due to the walls of the convention center and everyone on the network in that area. I know in the past anyone on T-Mobile has had quite a lot of issues with signal due to density. As for wired internet, it is quite expensive to "rent" ethernet in each of the rooms, we advise all panelist to download videos/offline content ahead of time.
  8. ARCHIVE: Thanks to ACen

Thanks for the feedback, we look forward to seeing you apply again Next Year!
  9. 2015 Feedback for ADA/Special Needs

Speaking from Panel Programming, our Staff should be trained to look for the passes from people in line or wait for them to come up and let them know. Usually we aren't able to allow them in too early we more or less do it first and let them get settled and seated then we let the rest in. This is mostly due to Panel Scheduling and Space concerns. Ideally we want a 15 minute air out between all panels for these types of situations just sometimes isn't possible. Thanks so much for bringing it to our attention though for sure we will redo the staff training with more emphasis on it for the coming years!
  10. Game tournament was really disorganized

http://www.ACen.org/content/feedback Is the best ways to send feedback.
  11. The 2015 Panel Feedback thread

We will be looking into collecting all of the feedback for Panels submitted and sending it to the Panelist. Currently we only have about 10 items so far total. So Hopefully we can really drive the feedback engine in coming years and getting more and more people to use guidebook etc. I am considering making a pre-built ACen PPT slide that everyone can add to the end of their presentations and just display it as people leave. It would be optional of course for all Panelists.
  12. The 2015 Panel Feedback thread

You can use the web version from your PC: https://guidebook.com/guide/25835/forms/22259/menuItem/656626/?header=1 =)
  13. The 2015 Panel Feedback thread

Hello! We never mind people posting feedback directly here in the thread but we also want to encourage everyone to utilize the Guidebook App and go to Feedback => Panel Feedback and submit information there or utilize the Feedback forms for 2015: http://www.ACen.org/content/feedback We read all forms of feedback, email, guidebook and forums.
  14. Someone Thing To Do

Thank you for the feedback, we always strive to accept a variety of Panels. If their is something you have a passion for please make sure to keep an eye on the site and feel free to submit your own Panel idea. We have had scavenger hunts in the past as well. Also a few years ago we posted lots of categories and panels we really wanted to see, unfortunately the submissions weren't very high quality for the topics. Things always change every year. Look forward to hearing more Panel ideas and thoughts!

Any issues such as conflicting times with another Panel will be checked by our Staff and a correction sheet will be issued at the convention and also in the guidebook. All room signs outside of the rooms will also have the latest schedule. No changes can be made to the schedule at this time except for cancellations. Badge Pickup Procedure: All panelist who are entered the system will need to pay for their badge ahead of time, the discount will auto apply based on the number of panels you are scheduled in. The badges will be picked up in the registration hall at the Panel Programming Booth. Badges are NOT mailed. If you are coming in after regular booth hours, you may pick up your badge at the Registration Beta room. AS OF 5/5 ALL BADGES MUST BE PAID/PICKED UP AT THE CONVENTION, PRE-REG HAS FULLY CLOSED Panel Tech: All Rooms are equipped with 1 Projector and at least 2 microphones, we cannot promise any additional microphones or projectors. The projector connection will be a standard VGA with standard stereo audio input (Headphone Jack). If you are bringing a laptop make sure to get the correct adapter to bring with you to connect to a VGA connection. VGA is the most standard type of connection with a vast majority of laptops having it. If you are bringing an Apple PC then you will need the specific apple adapter. Different years of Macbooks have different types of adapters so make sure you test it ahead of time if possible. A good way to test is to hook up to a standard monitor at home ahead of time. If you are playing a DVD a good idea is to play it off a laptop as DVD Players will not be provided. Some Examples: Mini DisplayPort to VGA (Common on newer Laptops) HDMI to VGA DVI to VGA Thunderbolt to VGA (newer macbooks) Displayport to VGA (very rare on laptops) Look these up online and you will see the connectors and pictures Panel Times: Reminder from the Panelist Policy, all Panels will end 10 minutes before the scheduled time to allow for the room to be cleaned out and the next group to come in and setup. Get with your Co-Panelist ahead of time and run through your Panel and time it and make sure you are coming in the proper scheduled time for your Panel. Panel staff will end a panel if it begins to run over time.
  16. On average, how quickly do panels get approved?

    Ohhh sneaky..... :P
  17. On average, how quickly do panels get approved?

Can't wait to read all of those descriptions and hundreds and hundreds of outlines! ^_^
  18. Security didn't bother with my badge?

Its going to happen with so many people going and out. We did have multiple checkpoints for badges in Panel rooms and getting into the Panel room area as well. It sounds like next time they checked it and asked for it. Most likely just an honest mistake. =)
  19. Professionalism

Yes we should know about it. ACen has rules which are part of being given the badge along with the Panelist Policies. It goes back to be being professional while giving your Panel. If its a personal issue with somebody in the audience then the Panelist needs to get with one of our staff to assist at that point.
  20. Professionalism

Hello, We actually are planning to switch up how we monitor rooms in the future with our staff. We also have taken note of some panels that had complaints like these filed against them. If you could also contact us and email us the panel in question to make sure we have it on file. Thanks for the feedback!
  21. What has been your favorite panel this year! Let us know by posting below and why!
  22. So you want to make plushies? Feedback

We sure keep track, we take note of which rooms were full. Your room filled to capacity and had to turn people away, so I would for sure recommend a 150+ room for next year.
  23. So you want to make plushies? Feedback

This panel was quote popular! For sure if you apply next year I would ask for a larger room. =)
  24. I am actually sending out something now. =)
  25. Exactly what rooms are the Panels in?

Correct, that floorplan does have a small mistake for the panel room numbering. We have already submitted to have it corrected, but most of that is correct at this time. As always you will want to confirm in the main program book at the con.
