  1. I loved the Carolina Manga Library!

I liked the library a lot, too. I ended up reading some of the first volumes of Claymore (which I thought was okay) and One-Punch Man (very funny, and good action).
  2. FEEDBACK: Offensive or Empowering? Women and Fanserive

I liked how you divided the anime into Good, Indifferent and Bad (although I disagreed with your placement of Strike Witches; I liked the story and characters more than you did). I also liked the diversity of titles, and you explained yourself well. Perhaps next year you can include newer titles, such as High School DXD and Maken-Ki? Video might also make the panel flashier. Given the subject matter, it might not be a bad idea to make this an 18+ panel.
  3. 2015 Guest Feedback

I caught only the tail end of the Mika Takeuchi/AKIRA fashion show, but liked what I saw. AKIRA is a very good singer, the fashion looked great, and the post-show interviews were fun and informative. The SCANDAL concert was awesome, and I will likely buy their latest album now. Only negative was the slightly late start time, but that's understandable (concerts rarely if ever start on time).
  4. Man, I'm surprised that The Anime Encyclopedia isn't multiple volumes at this point ;). Good for her, though! I and many others can only dream of that publishing success.
  5. It's been several years since ACen brought together the American and Japanese voice actors from Soul Eater, so I propose that they do so for another currently popular Funimation show--A Certain Scientific Railgun. Here's the list of the four main characters from the show, and the actresses who voice them: Mikoto Misaka: Brittney Karbowski and Rina Satou Kuroko Shirai: Alison Viktorin and Satomi Arai Kazari Uiharu: Cherami Leigh and Aki Toyosaki Ruiko Saten: Brina Palencia and Kanae Ito I know that many of the American VAs have been to Anime Central (or other regional conventions) before, so I think its a realistic possibility that El Ken could secure them. They also have voiced characters in many other anime series, so they likely have large fanbases (though Ms. Viktorin is relatively new). I'm not so sure about the Japanese VAs, although Rina Satou has voiced Negi Springfield from Negima! and Kiyoh Littner from Gurren Lagann (among other shows). I think the panels from these guests (together or separate) could be fun, and they would most likely draw long lines for autographs. Let's make this happen :) !

EGOIST has performed songs for Guilty Crown ("Departures (Anata Ni Okuru Ai No Uta)" and "The Everlasting Guilty Crown") and Psycho-Pass ("Namae No Nai Kaibutsu" and "All Alone With You"). In addition, songwriter Ryo is also from the group Supercell, which has produced songs for Guilty Crown and many other anime (including Black Rock Shooter, Bakemonogatari, Naruto: Shippunden and Shakugan no Shana Final). So this seems like it would be a pretty big get, if the group is willing and able to perform outside of Japan.
  7. What will you do this 4th of July?

Also a first for me: being in a wedding party, specifically as one of my brother's groomsmen. It was very fun weekend, and definitely different from my usual 4th of July celebrations.
  8. What's Next On Your Anime List?

Currently watching: Haganai A Certain Magical Index A Certain Scientific Railgun Guilty Crown Up Next: The second half of My Bride is a Mermaid (watched the first half two years ago) All that Funimation is because Funimation-On-Demand is so convenient, and I recently subscribed to the website.
  9. which series have you re-watched the most?

Three way tie between Outlaw Star, Neon Genesis Evangelion and the Dirty Pair OAV series. In all cases, it was to watch the sub and the dub. But I'm sure I'll watch Cowboy Bebop again someday :) .
  10. Having recently watched the Trigun and Black Cat anime series for the first time (and having read all of Trigun and begun reading Black Cat), I've noticed that the storylines share striking similarities. Legendary gunman feared by criminals and laypeople alike: Check Has signature gun that can best other firearms: Check Pines for dead female mentor, and consequently resolves never to kill another human being: Check Is pursued by maniacal former co-hort, who has formed his own band of super-powered villains: Check Granted, they're by two different authors, and their similarities are likely coincidence, but it got me to thinking of how other shows share similar ideas and/or characters. Anyone else know of any series "separated at birth"?
  11. You Should Read This!

Maison Ikkoku -- just finished reading this (like, a few minutes ago), and it is excellent. One of Rumiko Takahashi's earlier manga, it's a wacky romantic comedy about a college boy who falls in love with his apartment manager. Unfortunately, his fellow tenants (and others, including himself) get in the way of his pursuit of her. The manga's a bit shaky at times, but the ending is killer. Mai the Psychic Girl -- by Kazuya Kudo and Ryoichi Ikegami. This is the story of a telekinetic young girl on the run from a powerful agency that wants to use her as a weapon. Kind of like Firestarter, but with a much bigger scope. The Perfect Collection is only four volumes, so it's a relatively short read. Video Girl Ai -- by Masakazu Katsura. While pining over a crush, a teenage boy watches a video of a cute idol -- who proceeds to come to life. Nice mix of romance and action, full of interesting twists and turns. Azumanga Daioh -- by Kiyohiko Azuma. Another shorter series, this time about the adventures (and misadventures) of elementary school students and their teachers. A very cute and funny slice-of-life manga full of lovable characters. Those are my favorites, but I also recommend Battle Angel Alita and With the Light.
  12. I've only seen her in a few series now, but they are rather diverse roles. She was shy Miyano in B Gata H Kei, intelligent Komoe in A Certain Magical Index and slightly bratty Sena in Haganai. I thought she was excellent in all of them (only started watching Haganai, though), and she sounds very different in each--pretty impressive acting. She's a newer actress, but already has an strong resume. I think she'd be a great addition to the guest lineup.
  13. Luci Christian

Agreed. Plus she's Himeko in Kokoro Connect, which is one of my favorite anime series ever. Forgot she was in Full Metal Panic!; I liked her in that, too.
