  1. Haikyuu! 2016

  2. Dangan Ronpa 2014

I won't be participating as I am super shy, but I will definitely be watching and taking pictures! Any pictures taken will be posted on my tumblr. I will be sure to tag them properly so y'all can find them if you don't follow me! :)
  3. Dangan Ronpa 2014

Just poppin' in to say I'll be Fem!Gundam. Not sure if I'll be able to make it to the shoot (Saturday is a black out day at work), but I shall try my best! Otherwise, I'll be around Friday and Sunday! :)
  4. Is Acen even considered an anime convention anymore?

Seriously? You just think all of us complain just to complain? If we complain, it's for a good reason. We want this con to be better than it is. I honestly don't get your logic. We also don't complain because of the size, but there are things that happen because of the size. And because C2E2 has "Entertainment" in their name, having entertainment guests are fine. And I will go to cons that I feel are much better than ACen. I'm done with ACen after this year.
  5. Is Acen even considered an anime convention anymore?

Um, do you even know what C2E2 stands for? Chicago Comic and ENTERTAINMENT Expo. TV/Movie celebs, pro wrestlers, etc. are entertainment guests so they belong at C2E2. So your argument about that is invalid.
  6. Suggestions for ACen 2013

That's not true. I won a contest the week before ACen and they printed out the badge at the con so I got a paper badge. I'm assuming those who pre-registered and had them mailed (and possibly those who picked them up at will-call) were hard plastic or the hard plastic ones were the special 15th Anniversary badges. Those who registered at the con had paper badges.

I don't get where you're getting the whole, "Everyone who is complaining wants this to be an all anime con." thing from because I highly doubt that those of us complaining want it to be an anime only con. You keep mentioning that we want it to be anime only, but none of us are saying that. We want it to be the focus and it doesn't seem like anime is the focus anymore.

It was so good! Lots of funny moments and lots of awesome action! Loved Stan Lee's cameo and Hawkeye and Thor are amazing eye candy. Especially Hawkeye. ;D I loved that Cobie Smulders (Robin from HIMYM) was in it and had a big part too! I'm seeing it again tonight with some friends. Can't wait! :D

I second this. They're just defending the Soap Bubble and don't realize how much of a problem it's becoming. To say that cons these days are becoming frat parties is just stupid. They aren't even discouraging the excessive drinking and parties. Only defending it. I'm fine with drinking, but to defend frat parties and drunks running around and acting like idiots is just nuts. I go to quite a few cons. Many smaller, one much larger and there have been no problems with drunks and room parties.
  10. Suggestions for ACen 2013

Since the rave is sooooooooooooooooooo important. Why doesn't ACen just spend the money to have it at the Rosemont Theater? It keeps all the crazy drunks away from the Hyatt.
  11. Is Acen even considered an anime convention anymore?

You do realize that some people use anime as a general term for all the Japanese culture stuff, right? It's so much easier to type anime than type out anime, video games, fashion, etc.
  12. Masquerade 2012

They had anyone who could help (volunteers and con staff), help clean up and set up. They were calling for all hands on deck. It sounded like they were trying super hard to get the Soap Bubble to start on time.
  13. Youmacon 2012

Programming starts Thursday evening so there would be no point in having an option for Wednesday. :)
  14. 2012 Gripes thread

Regarding stamps, you could do different colors and different stamps for each session. Sure, it would be a lot to keep up with, but if you make a sheet that says which stamps are for which guests, then it would be easy. Then again, that's a lot of different combos for all the different guests. I really think a ticket system would work. You go up to the IRT member, they hand you a ticket and have you come back like 10 minutes or so before the autograph session. IRT has you line up in order of ticket and you would hand the IRT member the ticket so you don't use it for another autograph session. The booth that Jhonen V was signing at at C2E2 did that and shoo'd us away so we wouldn't be blocking everyone. It was simple and easy.
  15. Youmacon 2012

You can book a room for that Thursday. Not sure where you're seeing that you can't.
