I love doing something challenging for my cosplays- and this year I've decided to have my alt be a Kyubey (Madoka) head.
This will new my first time crafting a mascot head, and I wondered of anyone had any tips or big no-nos to share.

Since it needs to be a simple round shape, I was thinking of filing down either some styrofoam, chair seat foam, or leftovers from my dad's polyurethane lab into the requisite shape and securing ears (I'll have to wait for allergen info, though)
What do you guys recommend when covering a round head?
~Been: Nanako, Grown-up Nanako, Excalibur, Mameshiba, Kushina Uzumaki~
ACen 2015 (debating)
~Tony the Clock (DHMIS)
~Igor (Persona series)

The name? I can make a mean, cheap costume. That's why.

There is just scads of info and tutorials about making mascot heads out on the internet. I would do a search for fursuit construction tutorials. I think upholstery foam covered in faux fur is a common method of construction.

Here's a link to an old, but informative forum post on another forum: http://www.anthrocon...-building-forum
