Good Morning,

For everyone who is actively awaiting their badges … While we realize it is no longer early February and badges have still not been shipped as we had expected they would be, I wanted to update everyone on what is going on.

All of the at-con badge purchases from last May, Tier1 & Tier2 (including groups), Youmacon & Kollisioncon Roadshow badge labels have been printed and are awaiting badges. Tier3 badges are in the process of being printed by date order, along with Ohayocon Roadshow. Anime Milwaukee Roadshow registrations are in the middle of being processed.

All 10,000 envelopes have been prepared with return address, mail letter, and stamp and are ready and waiting for badges to be inserted and dropped off at the post office.

The one and only thing that is holding us up at the current moment, is the physical badges. The printer we used this year had maintenance performed on their presses this past January. We were given a shipping date for the badges of mid-to-late January and were told at that time to expect them the first week in February. I am currently working with them so we will receive them as soon as possible.

We already have a plan in place to ship out larger waves of badges in a shorter time frame so that ALL badges will be in the mail by the close of badge mailing and prior to the convention itself.

We ship all badges First-Class Mail via USPS, which according to their website is delivered “within 3 days in most cases”. We will be announcing all mail waves on the ACen Forums and through social media.

If you do not receive your badge after one week of your announced wave, which will be by purchase date, please contact the Registration Team at registration@acen.org. They will be more than happy to look into what went wrong and find resolution for you.

One question, what about the ball tickets? Will they be sent with the badges? What about lone tickets for said ball? How will that work?

well the con is a about a mounth and ahalf away. from the looks of it you guys have none of the badges sent out. my ? is are you guys going to have every buddy worken day an night with printen up the badges in order to make up for the lost time/or make it up to everyone? my 2nd ? is. have you gotten you printer back? 3rd does these mean that tear3's are going to be a none priordey due to these hole mishalf? plz see about giveing us a update on these matter due to about less then 60 days tell acen.

I am not quite sure I understand this question. However, I will copy what I did said and hopefully this answers your question:

Just curious as to when everything was printed. I figured I'd ask while I was here, and thinking about it, but a friend that will be attending with me recently had an address change and updated her badge info because of this change. I just want to check if her edit was early enough or if she should keep an eye out at her moms house? Thanks! And thank you for working out the problems, I know thatl you a lot of work to do!!

Have your friend email the Registration Team at registration@acen.org. They will be more than happy to check into it for her. Please have her send full name, email address, and registration system username.

so that means you guys are not the ones that are printing the badges up its being done by another group all togather and when you guys get the bolk of all the badges you well be mailing them and so on and so forth

At this point, I'm assuming the first and second tier badges have not yet been mailed out.

Is it possible for third tier badges to get mailed out before the con starts?

if we do not get a badges in the mail well we get are money back for the shiping cost and well we get like some kind of bonus for going throu these kind of problom. becuz some of use orderd them by mail for a reson. like being disabled/or medical reson.

I'm sorry, you must be sick and tired of having to deal with these questions. I only asked due to the fact that originally 1st and 2nd tier badges would get mailed out and then third tier would get mailed out on a later date. I was not aware they would be mailed out all at the same time.

why are you defering thesehow would you not know i mean if we payed for the badges to be mailed off and we did not get them in the mail. we should get that money back for that at lest.

I'm assuming because that's a roughly $20,000 decision and not one to be made lightly or by one person.

yeah i have been trying to find that out as well my self but no just the same thing over and over agin. i mean if they are all in disaray then say it. now the other thing i have problem with is its maintenance performed is it done or still being done or do you guys need a new one. is it working is it not working. and the last thing has any and i mean any badges been mailed out at all teir 123 any of them. becuz you guys are normaly spot on with these stuff and with gettig things out in a timely manner. all i know is that everyone that is asking or keeping up on these fourm are just as frustraded as you and your team are and wanting to know why things have not been kicked in to gear yet thats all. not to mak you more mad then what you already are so yeah all we want is the straight forword trouth or your true thoughts on whats happen to you guys or what you your honest thoughts on what you think may or may not happen.

not realy if you payed for something and you didnt get it. then no matter how much it cost them they still need to give it back due to its services that were not given

And while I agree with that it's likely up to the Treasury head or Board of Directors or Con Chair to make the final call on if and how it would be done. Registration is just given a budget and works with it, this would be clearly outside of that budget thus not their call.

And anyway this is all pointless since they've stated that the badges will be shipped by March 15th. So I'd wait until it doesn't happen before getting your knickers in a twist and demanding refunds.

its not that i am getting what you called my knickers in a twist its just that these has not happened with them befor and that i am just asking so that way everyone who reads these fourm knows were they stand on the hole what if facter if or when they dont get there badges and if and when they go to get there badges at the con. that it well be taken care of. just to make shere they have a fall back plan if in turn crap dose blow up ya know.

hey ever i want to say one thing thank you for all of your hard work all i am doing is just asking the hard things so that way you dont get slamed by like 80 people asking all at ones. that you only need to deal with one person asking.

I am just doing one post for all the questions and clarifications that I have been asked; please see below:

What this means is that we still plan on mailing the badges out in waves. However, instead of the smaller waves we've done in previous years spread out over two week intervals, we will be condensing them down into larger waves of badges in a very short time frame.

First, I can say that NO badges have been mailed out as of today.

Second, at this time I have given out as much information as I will about the delay from the original early February dates for the first wave of badges to be mailed as announced in our newsletter and on the forums. We have a professional relationship to maintain with the vendors who provide us services, i.e. our badge printing company, and I will not jeopardize it with gossip.

However, I can say that we are working closely with them to ensure that we will receive our badges as quickly as possible and ask for your continued patience during this process.

At this point we aren't planning for failure of mailing badges prior to the convention, but if something were to happen we would certainly be discussing it.

I will not give a firm date for when the first wave of badges will be mailed out. However, Tier3 ends on March 15th. As of midnight that night, you will no longer be able to purchase a badge with mailing. We intend the last wave of badges to be mailed shortly thereafter.

Hey there!

how do you find out which tier your in?? That sucks about the printer...Oh well. If the badges dont come in or make it to a person, can we pick them up at the convention? (just wondering)

It tells you in your purchase order in parenthesis.

Cosplays did not happen in 2009, thanks to finals. Things are not looking good in 2010 either :/ I may not make it til Acen until Sat. evening.
