Hey guys.. i was wondering something...

I was wondering if it was ok to make a Hybrid cosplay
im going to do it anyways :P

long story short.. yadda, yadda, yadda... Im putting together an Iron "whiplash" cosplay....

Here is the comparison from the comic version, from the movie version

http://i41.tinypic.com/v8knk.jpg

the comic is way to... "bondage" for me.. no way I am wearing a leather mask :P

the movie version is complex beyond my craftsmanship :P

i was thinking.....
as in already planning, and already started :P
......about putting together a hybrid.. less "bondage" from the original, and less "complex" from the movie..

is it generally "bad" to create hybrid of characters?

either way.. this thing is going to look wicked when Im done ;)

Let me know your thoughts.....

Cosplay whatever you want Seph. So long as it is within the rules, who cares what you cosplay? Unless you somehow care what cosplay snobs/elitists think.

ugh...

A costume is unacceptable if it does any of the following:

* Extends more than six inches (6”) from your body in any direction. If you have a long tail, for example, it is acceptable if you hold it against your body, but unacceptable if you let it drag behind.

so basically.. to be con friendly.. I cant have the laser whips long enough to drag on the floor? thats like a 2 foot whip :(

PROTIP: If it looks wicked enough, people will like it whether or not they know who you are

I say do it.

As for the whips, they can be as long as you are tall if they are detachable (thereby which they magically become props!)

(However... I'm not sure if whips are even allowed... you probably want to check with Rabbi on that one.)

well, if i read that correctly.. i can wrap the "whips around me.. as long as they are not dragging, and i can let them out for some photos...

im going to use rope lights for the whips.. like this dude

The whip idea you have looks great. But I say you should totally do the cosplay. I'm sure it will look awesome, and for you personally it will be more of your own which will make it more original and memorable. Go for it! :D And I demand a picture if you really go through with it, Seph. :)
