The person that was making the charts has "retired", but ANN has published a list:
http://www.animenews...-anime-in-japan

I'm happy for the shows coming out in the winter, I have a strong interest in a few shows more then the last few seasons at least. Fractale is the show that I am looking forward to the most. GOSICK looks insisting despite my misgivings about the art work and the issue that it is made by Bones. Along side Fractale on the noitaminA block is Hourou Musuko whose premise sounds very good and noitaminA has never lead me the wrong way. Level E for some good Sci-Fi, no mecha, no fantasy just good Sci-Fi. For my comedy fix I will be turning to the second season of Kimi ni Todoke.

Fractale sounds interesting so I'll give it a shot.

GOSICK sounded interesting but as I thought about it I took it out of my list. I'll watch a couple episodes of it but it isn't a strong contender for my attention.

Hourou Musuko is something that piques my interest not only because I happen to like girly things while being a man, but also because the concept itself sounds fairly interesting. I look forward to seeing this one!

Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magica is by SHAFT and is by Ume Aoki, creator of my favorite slice of life series Hidamari Sketch. There is no way I can miss out on this!

And yeah... thats basically my list of stuff. Fractale, Hourou Musuko and Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magica are the series I look forward to after the new year starts.

I'll definitely be watching the second season of Kimi ni Todoke. But the last year or so I haven't been keeping up with the new shows like I used to, so that will probably be it.

I'll start off watching almost all of them, and then taper off to watching just the few I like.

The new little sister show will be great though I'm sure.

Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magika has totally grabbed my attention this season, being done by SHAFT and being a series by Ume Aoki there was no way for me to escape it's alluring power.

Yumekui Merry has also grabbed my interest, not originally on my list but the first episode grabbed me with it's art style and how the first episode played out.

Just waiting for Fractale and Hourou Musuko

With Fractale airing I have seen the entire years lineup and for the first time in awhile I have passed as many shows as I have failed. In general the failures were epically bad with Cardfight!! Vanguard being one of the worst shows I have ever seen.

Onii-chan no Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara ne!! is not that far behind, unless you don't find incest disturbing then it might be far better, I have a sister and the show gives me the willies.

Freezing unsuccessfully combines violence fanservce with comical T&A fanservice, a crotch shot of a women being torn limb from limb just seems out of place. Unlike the shows from the late 80's that merged violence with sexual T&A which was a far more successful pairing that did not seem completely out of place. IS: Infinite Stratos is very close to Freezing with less violence, more T&A and an even weaker plot. Neither show has much in the way of constant animation or art, in Infinite Stratos the only thing they seemed to put much effort into drawing and animating was underwear and breasts.

Rio: Rainbow Gate makes no sense what so ever and in general is one of the weakest attempts at fanservice and product placement being put together. The notion that a casinos prized employee is a dealer who makes other people lucky so they always win and solves everyones problems through gambling makes you just want to run down the nearest Pachinko parlor and play. Or that is what the Pachinko machine manufacture that financed this show would like you to do.

Dragon Crisis! doesn't really have much wrong with it, it just doesn't have anything going for it. I only watched it a few days ago and I honestly have no clue what it is about any more.

Yumekui Merry is so disconnected that I was very lost by a show with very little depth to the story, word of wisdom to writers: A disjointed script does not make for a deep thinking script.

Beelzebub is a better then your average jump show, but it is still a jump show. If you dislike Gintama do to it making you think to much this show might be up our alley.

Kore wa Zombie Desuka? and Magical Girl Madoka Magika are both good shows if you are into their genres, I am simply not.

Fractale was the show I was most looking forward to and was the most disappointed by. The animation and art were great but it was kinda lacking a bit in depth that one expects from a noitaminA show. That said well the first episode was lacking I do see some good potential for the show and am looking forward to seeing more.

Level E has a nice blend of comedy to start the show off with and by the end it is hitting its Sci-fi stride. What is left to be seen is if the show is a Sci-Fi comedy of if it is a Sci-Fi show with comedic elements to it, I am thinking the second.

Hourou Musuko takes a very laid back character driven approach to covering trans gender issues. Last season's noitaminA show Princess Jellyfish took a far more in your face comical approach to dealing with trans gender issues this almost the opposite. Hourou Musuko is written by Shimura Takako who also wrote Sweet Blue Flowers so as expected it has a very smiler tone. If this show does poorly coupled with the bombing of Sweet Blue Flowers I doubt Shimura-San will see much of her work animated.

Gosick was not the show that I would have thought would be my favorite at the end of week one. Victorique de Blois appearance would usually turn me off but the general tone is very different then most Loli/moe shows. The main male Kujou Kazuya actually has a spine and is more then just a generic push over. The first episode mystery was a joke and i hope that they do get more Mystrious as the show goes on.

Never heard of Beelzebub; ever. ._.

Just curious jsieczkar....is there something you are looking forward to in the new year or are you watching a different genre right now from the previous years? The reason why I ask is because of your post and I only heard of Hourou Musuko and that's because I read the manga of that and it was good. Everyone doesn't like 'not in your face moe or funny,' dealing with issues so it's probably not for everyone, like the non insane Yandere manga that's being translated recently. The main reason why I am scared is that a lot of anime is completly off course than the manga and sometimes loses it's flare or what made it successful in the first place.

I was going to look up all of these and guess my own opinion since I'm curious now.

For the record, Beelzebub, Gosick, and Oniichan no Koto are good icebreakers if you want to get someone who's never seen an anime before (aside from Pokemon or DBZ), to watch one.

... Maybe not so much Oniichan no Koto, but the comedy eventually makes up for the awkward subject matter.

Really? I think it's one of the worse..r shows of the season.

If anything I want to know why Mint continues to be in it ._.

Though it's certainly not as bad as Freezing is.

I want more Madoka, Merry and Gosick ;-;

It's not amazing, but I'm enjoying it. It's the only one that has interested me this season. Maybe I will look into the others, but the descriptions didn't make me want to watch them. I'll stick with Rio Rainbow Gate.

The new Wolverine anime makes me so mad. I hate the way they drew Wolverine. Making it into an anime sounded cool until I saw what he looks like in this series.
I have to say though, I am excited for the Supernatural anime being released. I also wanted to check out the Iron Man anime series, but I couldn't find anything.

In the end I basicly ended up watching the shows I figured I would watch. I haven't watched anything in a while do to being in Hawaii B) Hourou Musuko I haven't liked as much as I did Princess Jellyfish mostly do to finding the art work as enjoyable. It do find it interesting and commendable that Fuji TV would air the two shows so close together. I don't really read much manga so I can't judge one against the other, but from what I heard Sweet Blue Flowers anime was fairly straight forward.

Oh no wonder XD Thanks for the input. I never heard of the creator before Hourou Musuko so I was going to look into Sweet as well but if you said that was bad then...I might end up reading the manga instead!

@ Everyone: also thanks for the input as well btw<3 I'm trying to watch more anime since my bf looks at stuff like High school of the dead or what not.

Ladies ladies ladies, if you find a man whose only concern about a woman is her breast size, he just may be dumb enough to believe you if you say you have Ds when you have Bs.

Here's the chart by the way since I didn't see one get posted.

As per usual, I'll be waiting till after these series finish their run before I check them out. Nothing really appeals to me so far.
My tongue moved, a swung relaxing hinge.
I said to her, 'What will become of us?'
And as forgotten water in a well might shake
At an explosion under morning

Or a crack run up a gable,
She began to speak.
'I think our very form is bound to change.
Dogs in siege. Saurian relapses. Pismires."

- from Seamus Heaney's "Sibyl", part two of "Triptych"

So we're now past the halfway mark of the new season, what are everyone's thoughts so far on their animes?
