Idea for changing GROUPS please post your opinion if you have or plan to register in a group

for groups of 10+ we are considering changing how we do groups to remove a huge headache that both staff and attendees have a lot every year. "my one group member forgot to select mailing *cry*" We would do packages. For example 10 badges with mailing for one flat rate of $470 - group discount = $450 (tier 1) so everyone one in the group receives mailing automatically by purchasing this package. A package of 10 would be 430 without mailing. It is EXTREMELY rare that we have 1 member or 2 not select mailing on purpose when the rest of the group does select mailing. 99% of the time it is a mistake/misclick etc. Group leaders and members who maybe didn't have mailing on their account when they thought they did, everyone! Please comment and say if you like or don't like this idea. I don't want to change something this major without any feedback. It could turn out to be a horrible idea, or save the headach of the 100 + accounts we have to correct a year.

Having been in a group a few times, I believe this is a great idea. It would reduce on the stress at least on the attendees :thumbup:

I like this idea. I've been in a group two years in a row now and both times people forgot to have their badges mailed. I remember one time reading that it was eventually going to be made possible for the group leader to select to have the badges in their group mailed from their account, and I'm guessing that's essentially what this is, minus the selecting? If so, I like it =)

Great idea! Then the group leader would be the one responsible for giving them their badges when it is mailed. This would make a lot of attendees happy to have their badge all ready to go with their big group! ^.^

. What if a group leader and member had a falling out and the leader decides to be a tool and does not give the group member their badge?

We've had this happen since atm badges are mailed to the group leader. If there is a falling out the attendee should contact us ASAP and we will send it to their home instead. Or we contact both parties and if the group leader doesn't hand over the badge then we give another to the attendee/member and the group leader has the badge cost on his/her account until they return it to us. This is rare and we normally are told before the mail goes out or at con during will call for the group.
