Okay~~~ So, since ACen is like... basically 11 days away (very soon anyway), I thought I'd post this for you guys. I do this for mainly every convention I go to, so, ya, merry christmas to ACen~! XD XD

I found this a few years ago, but I definitely needed to share this with all you. This is mainly for girls (sorry guys) but There's a lot of things guys will need on this list too! So you aren't at a complete loss! Anything to add to the list? Post it!! This is taken directly from http://www.geocities.../checklist.html with a few tiny changes here and there.
Read it! Be Informed! Use it!

Whether it's your first con or your twenty-first, you're bound to forget something. While most conventions are in hotels, with Targets and drugstores all around, you probably don't need to be encouraged to spend anymore money as it is. Having everything with you isn't only convinient, it's cheaper. So here is a list of stuff one simply should not survive a weekend at a convention without. An added extra is that you can use this list later on to make sure you're taking everything home. Ganbate, ne!

1. Things you need to fix your costume, should something go wrong.
Needle & thread
Safety pins (I made the mistake of not bringing them to last ACen and I was practically begging someone for one of her pins off her purse)
Regular sewing pins (Trust me, you may need them! )
Scissors
Elmer's glue, super glue, fabric glue, hot glue/liquid stitch+ (although just super glue should take care of most things ^_~ )
Masking/scotch/Duct\ and fabric tape
Scrap fabric (not whole bolt, something to mask a large tear is generally useful)#
shout wipes or bleach pens (especially for those in a white or light colored costume) $$
white out or markers for chips in paint of costume $$
fusing tape(in case a HUEG (like X-Box big) seam rips in a costume)^
Clear nail polish(for runs in tights)+

2. Stuff you need to get your beauty sleep.
Pillow (hotel pillows are never comfortable enough)
PJs (your cutest pair, just in case you should need to roam the hotel after hours)
Slippers (see above)
Ear plugs (if you have roommates, especially otaku roommates, and ppl keeping coming and going from the room)
Eye mask (hotel room curtains always have that crack that shines light right into your face)*
Robe (esp. if you're rooming with guys)*
Your favorite stuffed animal (yes sounds dumb, but it's cute, not to mention nice to have when you can't fall asleep)
A blanket and /or sleeping bag - dependent on the number of people in your room. $$$

3. Costume (and other) supplies for your head and face, and other toiletries.
Toothbrush/paste, floss
Hair brush, comb (Wig brush, comb)
Gel, hairspray, mousse, egg whites (Wig hairspray), hair cement
Ponytail elastics, barrettes, bobby pins (Especially if you're wearing a wig!!)
Blow dryer (however, they tend to be heavy & most hotels have 'em available, I recomend checking)
Curling iron (Wig curlers)
Face wash, foundation, powder, coverup, blush, any face paint (and applicators)
Compact (if your costume has pockets, for on-the-go touch ups)
Eyeliner, shadow, mascara
Lip/chapstick
Nail polish, clippers, file
iron (most hotels have them in there)
Shampoo, conditioner (both of which hotels usually supply, but never as good)
Deodorant (Use it at least twice a day, even if it does say 24 hour protection)
your favorite type of body spray/mist(Cologne usually overpowering)(Axe or Tag plz! j/k %)#
Bath and Body works Body wash+same scented lotion=work really nice %
Soap
Towel (again, hotels supply these)
Pads, tampons (even if "just in case")
Any meds you may be taking/might need(Don't want to forget your allergy meds only to discover you're allergic to Chicago)!!!
Pain relievers theres a good chance you or someone you know will end up with a headache or sore feet, and nothing sucks quit as much as having a con ruined by pain. $$$
Vitamins/Vitamin C!
If dying hair, a hairdying 'kit' (extra gloves, a showercap, a wide toothed comb, and a rattail comb)!!!
antibacterial hand cleaner $$
Breath mints $$
Baby wipes $$
bounce sheet(I haven't tried it but I've been told that it can be rubbed on clothes and hair to get the static down)$$$
Lint Roller**
Shaving equipment (even if you dont think youll need it, just in case)$$$
Contact lenses and solution(bring along an extra pair also, along with glasses if you have them)$$$
Wig Spray+
Makeup bag+
Wigcaps!(especially if you're wearing wigs! and have long hair!)|
Tissues**
Tweezers**

4. Civillian clothing. Depends on the weather
Jacket <--you'll probably be needing that
T-shirt
Pullover/sweatshirt
Jeans, shorts
Socks, underwear, bras (pack an extra day worth of these)
Nylons (Bring a pair for every costume, nylons die fast)
Shoes
Swim suit
Something for going out on the town*
going to the ball? don't forget your dress (or suit), jewelery and shoes $$
Dance Attire!(soap Bubble) |

5. Miscellaneous/Entertainment Especially for long car/plane trips
Cell phone (AND CHARGER!$$)&
Pens/pencils to doodle, or to write down names/e*mails/phone #s
Address book (see above)
Portable CD player & CDs, for tuning out roommates (plus batteries*)
Ear plugs, see above
Plastic grocery bag, very handy for dirty laundry or anything else
Money/credit/debit cards (duh) but make sure to keep 'em safe
Camera and *lots* of film AND Batteries just for it
Playing cards, they're a great way of meeting new people (That drop dead gorgeous Sanosuke, "Hey, can I play?")
Condoms (no snickering, better safe than sorry)*
A small bag which goes w/ your costume (or find some way to sew pockets into it)
stuff to be signed by guests@
backpack (to carry stuff, small purchases and the like, seriously it's easier than the bags you get in the dealers room)$$$
Soda, or whatever beverage you drink, in bottles - you're going to need liquids so don't rely on the drinking fountains. $$$
Food $$$,snacks+,fruit snacks+,cereal bars+, Coffee+
Pocky - yah it's a great way to meet people. $$$
Small First Aid Kit (band aids, neosporin, rubbing alcohol, and ace bandages better safe than sorry)+
Ziplock Baggies +
A small list of emergency contacts(once again... better safe than sorry)+
Airborne (that stuff will help most NOT get sick)=
Walkie Talkie :P

6. Costume stuff.
DON'T FORGET ANY PART OF A COSTUME! Make a list of all the loose pieces of your costumes,
and the quanitites of those pieces (i.e. black boots, x2). Do this until you are absolutely certain you're not
leaving anything behind.
Febreeze or something to refresh your costume (especially if you're wearing it more than one day!)

7.Other IMPORTANT THINGS!!
Your prereg form obvious I know but you really dont want to forget it.$$$
Your ID your going to need to prove who you are. $$$

Few things that I've found that might help
A lanyard - if you have one from a previous con they make wearing your nametag much easier.
Your prereg form - obvious I know but you really don't want to forget it.
Your ID - your going to need to prove who you are.
Backpack - to carry your stuff, small purchases and the like, seriously it's easier than the bags you get in the dealers room.
Soda, or whatever beverage you drink, in bottles - you're going to need liquids so don't rely on the drinking fountains.
Food - even if its just snacks you need to eat, preferably in a resealable package.
Pocky - yah it's a great way to meet people.
Shaving equipment – even if you don’t think you’ll need it, just in case.
Contact lenses and solution – I’d bring along an extra pair also, along with glasses if you have them.
A blanket and /or sleeping bag - dependent on the number of people in your room.
Pain relievers – there’s a good chance you or someone you know will end up with a headache or sore feet, and nothing sucks quit as much as having a con ruined by pain.
A sheet or two of bounce - I haven't tried it but I've been told that it can be rubbed on clothes and hair to get the static down.

I'd also reccommend...

liquid stitch - it dries quickly and works well with most any fabric.

A small first aid kit ( band aids, neosporin, rubbing alcohol, and ace bandages) - better safe than sorry

Ziplock Baggies - You'd be surprised how handy have these can be

A gentle scented body spray ( i recommend vanilla or coconut) - this way, you don't have to worry about how you smell at 3 in the afternoon when you've been in cosplay all day. Or how you room smells with 5 people in it.

Wig Spray - Just in case your carefully styled wig gets a little mussed in the commute.

A Can of Your Fave Coffee - Let's face it... those hotel packets are never enough

Creamer and your fave sweetener (should you want it) - The creamer can be kept in the ice bucket... I've done it numerous times before.

Cereal Bars and/or Fruit Snacks - They're easy to carry around and can tide you over when you need something.

A small list of emergency contacts - once again... better afe than sorry

Make-Up Bag - It's easier to keep all your make up and make up accessories in a bag, that way you know where they are and it saves space.

No prob! Oh! I forgot to mention clear nail polish to stop those runs in your nylons and other fabrics before they get too bad.

It would be nice to have the key at the top of the post (ie: who the $$ and # etc. belong to) because it was rather confusing until I scrolled down a bit. Just thought it'd be more helpful ^_^

Airborne ... everyone at acen should bring Airborne. It's good stuff I tell you.

You didn't mention several wig caps. VERY IMPORTANT for those with long hair. That and glow for the dance. How about I extend that to dance attire. As in Soap Bubble attire! X3

Duct tape.

Seriously, I've found that with duct tape, safety pins, and a hot glue gun, you can fix nearly any cosplay mishap.

Dont forget the most vital thing on the list. A CELLPHONE & CHARGER ;) ! I cannot stress this enough. You will need it to keep in touch with your friends to let them know where you are and for emergencies.

Thanks so much for the list! I normally make my own, but this is much easier and very helpful.

Seeing as it is actually my 21st con... XD I'm still afraid I'll forget something. The last con I went to I forgot my wig for the only cosplay I was doing that weekend. T___T It was sad. Previous conventions I've forgotten entire, necessary parts of costumes, toiletries, etc etc. x__x *prints*

(P.S. I love you <3 XD )

If you have a pay as you go cell phone make sure you have plently of money on the phone ahead of time.

With the lint roller, if you go to the container store they have a reusable one for the same price as a regular one. I've been using it and it works WAY better than the regular ones.

I think taking a multivitamin is just as effective as airborne...if not MORE SO.

airborne isn't even FDA approved...which makes me wary of if it really works as well as they claim. >___>

I'd have to add Vitamin C tablets. If you pop a few of these a day (in my case, I take a few every few hours), you boost your immune system x 10. I know that seems like overkill but for people like me who get sick easily when they lose sleep, it's really important to keep you immunity up. I am particularly prone to sore throats/colds when I party too hard--especially if you get stuck sleeping on the cold, hard ground after you've been drinking a bit too much. A nasty cold is the last thing you need during your weekend of fun.

*Keep yourself as healthy as possible!!! We wait for this weekend so long; it's stupid to ruin it by being careless and not taking the proper precautions for your health. ^_^

you should add a section for different types of food to bring.

it is amazing all of the things you can make to eat, if you bring along a mini-microwave. I went grocery shopping for the trip last night (yeah...I like to get things done and out of the way) but I discovered a lot of different things that only require being heated in a microwave (without the need to be kept cold.)

Bringing your own food will end up saving you a lot of money in the long run, because you will not be forced to have to eat out for every meal. It is also crucial to make sure you eat something semi-decent for lunch and dinner....otherwise you will feel like crap.

some of the things I bought:

-microwaveable chef boyardie pasta & meat meals, such as raviolis, spaghetti-o's, lasagna
-microwaveable Campbell's Chunky soup and Progresso soup
-Easy Mac
-Bread and crunchy peanut butter
-Dole individually packaged fruit cups
-pringells and other potato chips
-Simply Asia microwaveable meals (they are like an expensive Udon noodle meal...that comes in TONS of different flavors and varieties. And they are vaccuum packaged)
-Nature Valley granola bars (perfect for breakfast!)
-Snickers Energy/Protein bars (these are in the health food aisle by the vitamins and stuff, and are over a dollar per bar...but totally worth it!)
-Rice Crispie Bars

I will more than likely have to make another trip to the store before I leave...in order to get some 12 packs of pop to take along as well. I will also need to get a case of bottled water, so I can make the easy mac...XD

I dont drink soda anymore but I do know that drinking bottled water is good for you. Bring some along. I also like to get this stuff call Crystal Light On The Go. Since it has no sugars or sodium, I just put it in my water, shake it up and walla! instant lemonade! Its really good. It makes me drink more water!

I gotta say, as a first time con-goer, I really appreciate you guys taking time out to help people like me. There were so many things on the list I didn't even think of (IE bandaids, a plastic grocery bag, and condoms) I know it seemed kinda funny to see condoms on the list but you make a valid point. YOU NEVER KNOW. There could be another Roy Mustang I'd have my eye on (aside from Travis XD JK!) It really makes me happy to know that I'm going to be surrounded with such nice and caring people for 3 days. Thanks again for taking time out to write this!!!!
You really think my fat butt was going to be prancing around as Roy Mustang in a mini-skirt? Oh no, no, Mr. Kool-Aid man. That wasn't happening XD

ACen 07 cosplay

Friday, Saturday, Sunday: Roy Mustang....What? Those costumes are expensive!

For those of you that are prone to swelling or just general soreness in one area of the body, ace bandage company makes reuseable ice packs and if you have a bucket of ice or a cooler you could bring that and stuff it in the ice and it helps a lot.

If you want a good natural sleep aid (in case you want to sleep XD), go to walmart and get Valerian Root. 120 caps for $4! This is real nice and doesn't leave you feeling hung over the following morning. I'm bringing some cause sometimes I just can't sleep for the life of me in a hotel room.

Walking Shoes + Bandaids especially for the ones who wear shoes in character and get blisters. Or for your no-cosplay day

um i have one

walkie talkies are useful because you dont have to worry about calling on cells, just have everyone who shares a hotel key go on a specific chanel (walkie talkies with private chanels are best)
