About Anne Shirley
The orphan Anne Shirley is adopted and moves to Green Gables where she grows together with her new family and friends, finding greater friendship, love, and happiness through her experiences as a student and later as a teacher.

On beautiful Prince Edward Island in Canada, the orphan Anne Shirley is mistakenly sent to Green Gables, home of Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, where she is adopted by them despite the misunderstanding. They initially don’t know what to do, but as they are won over by Anne’s imagination, their family bond deepens. As she meets her bosom friend Diana Barry and her constant rival Gilbert Blythe, and comes into contact with her classmates and teachers, Anne grows from a girl into a young woman.
The widely beloved tale of Anne Shirley’s growth from a girl into a woman has now returned. With her pure heart and unstoppable imagination, Anne will surely win the hearts of everyone she meets.
Anne Shirley will be simulcast in the US on Crunchyroll from April.

About Honoka Inoue
Honoka Inoue is a Japanese voice actress and singer from Kanagawa. She will play the lead role of Anne, in the Spring 2025 TV Anime “Anne Shirley”.
She made her voice acting debut in 2016, and since then has voiced several characters including Xiaomei from Edens Zero, Kotone Kazairo in RPG Real Estate, Sakura Uzuki from Puzzles & Dragons, Tomoe Kawakita in Cinderella Nine, Fuuka in the animated feature film The Klutzy Witch: Fuuka and the Witch of Darkness, and more. She will also play the lead role of Kaoruko Waguri in the upcoming summer 2025 anime Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku.
In games, she has voiced such characters as Nanami Asari from The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, Aston Machan in Uma Musume Pretty Derby, Honeyberry in Arknights, Emden in Azur Lane, and more. She also has numerous roles dubbing overseas dramas and TV shows including To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and Boss Baby.
Her mother is veteran voice actress Kikuko Inoue.
Honoka Inoue’s appearance at Anime Central 2025 is in collaboration with the Anne Shirley production team. This will be her first appearance at Anime Central!
About Yoshiko Nakayama
Yoshiko Nakayama is a Producer at Fuji Creative Corporation, and the Producer of Anne Shirley.
Throughout her career, she has been on the production committee of various anime titles including Emma: A Victorian Romance, The Law of Ueki, Call of the Night, and Urusei Yatsura.
For Anne Shirley, she is in charge of the planning, and worked as the production committee secretary and producer. She is thrilled to be working on the anime adaptation of the beloved “Anne of the Green Gables”, a work she has appreciated since reading it in school. She aims to bring out the charm of the story in full through this new anime adaptation.
She has also been involved in overseas licensing work in the past, playing an important role in bringing Japanese anime to the rest of the world.
