Welcome to Anime Central 2017,

Anime Central (ACen) is the Midwest’s largest anime, manga and Japanese popular culture convention and this year we are celebrating our 19th anniversary. This year’s convention is at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center and the Hyatt Regency O’Hare Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois from May 19th through 21st, less than 30 minutes from downtown Chicago. ACen is an event dedicated to the appreciation, recognition, and enjoyment of Japanese animation and culture. Thousands have attended ACen for the past 18 years for opportunities to meet and talk to people with similar interests. Last year over 31,000 fans came out to Rosemont to celebrate with us. As part of its mission, Anime Central brings fans together with American and International guests from the anime and manga industry, in addition to gaming, cinema, and Japanese pop culture personalities. The convention includes anime/manga related panels and workshops, guest signings, anime viewing rooms with featured premiers, a large exhibit hall selling Japanese pop culture merchandise, all night dance parties, the Masquerade costume contest, and much more. At ACen, expect to find cosplayers who dress up as their favorite Anime characters, live events, concerts, dances, competitions, gaming, and individuals of all ages who appreciate different parts of the anime, manga, and Japanese pop culture genres. On the Sunday of the event we are hosting a children’s day where children 12 and under are free with a paying adult. (limit two per adult)

Anime Central is sponsored by the Midwest Animation Promotion Society, a registered 501(c) (3) educational nonprofit organization.
