What is ACen?

Anime Central (ACen) is Chicago’s and the Midwest’s largest anime, manga and Japanese popular culture convention. The convention is currently held in Rosemont, IL, less than 30 minutes from downtown Chicago.

As part of its mission, ACen brings fans together with guests from the Japanese and US sectors of the anime and manga industry, as well as gaming, cinema, and Asian culture personalities. The event includes a huge exhibit hall, a massive video game room, concerts, dances, educational panels and workshops, premiere screenings, autograph sessions, 24-hour video rooms, tabletop gaming and much, much more!

Thank you to all of our fans old and new who came on out to join us this year! We want to thank all our Attendees, Guests, and Industry for coming out and being so supportive of our event. We had an amazing weekend of cosplay, frivolity, and once in a lifetime events. We are both proud and humbled by the community we have built here, and look forward to seeing everyone next year May 16th-18th, 2014!

Are you looking to become a part of Anime Central in a fashionable and fun way? Enchantlic Enchantilly and Atelier Pierrot are looking for 16 female models for their fashion show at Anime Central on Friday, May 17, 2013. You must be available from 8:00 am until 1:30 pm for hair and makeup through the end of the fashion show in main programming. You must also be at a fitting on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 7:30 pm at the Hyatt. This is mandatory.
Requirements from the designers are as follows:

Gashicon of Hangry&Angry & MINT NeKO are looking for male and female models for their fashion shows at Anime Central on Friday, May 17, 2013 & Saturday, May 18, 2013. You must be available from 10:00 am until 3:30 pm for hair and makeup through the end of the fashion show in Main Programming on Friday and 8:00 am until 2:00 pm on Saturday. Can Town

Can Town will be holding a Food Drive during Anime Central this year. Can Town will be located in the Exhibit Hall, and will be building its town from donations brought in by our attendees. Acceptable food must either be canned or non-perishable food. After the event Can Town will bring the food to the local food pantries. If you choose to join in on this great cause you will be entered into a raffle with prizes from many of our fabulous Industry partners and Anime Central! Winners will be drawn throughout the weekend so come and join us in this great event!
