Well this may be a little bit of a long post but I have a purpose. I am coming to ACEN this year with the goal in mind to meet new friends. I would prefer to meet females but not for the reasons that would come to mind, I just find it more comfortable. I am not looking to hook up or anything in that manner but romance is not out of the question if it happens to go that way but it is not what I am expecting. I want to meet people in the age range of 21-27. I would be cool with meeting with small groups but not ones that are too large since I can get kind of shy that way.
Well now that you know what I am looking for you should know more about me. I am a 26 year old guy working a professional career(For now due to the economy this may change as my department is being dissolved by the end of the year ) Also I do not drink at all one could say I am straight edge but I do believe in taking medications when needed so I am not as extreme as some. When it comes to anime I really will watch anything as long as it is good. I do not go for yaoi or shonen-ai and some kinds of hentai. Over tones of yaoi/shonen-ai are not a problem though(Tokyo Babylon for example). I am very diverse in my collection that spans all types of anime and is a 500+ of both volumes of anime and volumes of manga. My other hobbies are video games and computers.
What I would really would like is to start talking to some people soon so I can build some relationships prior to the con and hang out then. I will be at the con all three days but the first day I will be shopping until check in at the hyatt, if you want to hang and shop just let me know.

Dude, check out all the 21+ meetings being organized during the con after hours. Females on the other hand are harder to come by since the con's average female is in her teens. I think the promoter of the dances is starting a 21+ dance on Saturday night. i am going to check that out as well as the proposed meetings at the red bar on Thursday and Saturday night. Anyways, man good to see more of those around my age at the con. Good to meet ya.

Well I guess I'll start off, I also like anime and don't drink (well at least not anymore). Have been going to the con since 99. Started off watching robotech, which I then started watch all the macross series. I like most of the old school anime like hokuto no ken, macross, golgo 13, yu yu hakusho, dragonball z. Started to really get into anime through a high school anime club which I was lucky to see the vision of escaflowne about 18 months after it originally aired. Then the head of the club got me into the con which he worked for (acen), then came gundam wing. From there here I am in 2009.

Well I am also a long time fan. It all probably started when I was 12 with Vampire Hunter D. Then it was what ever I could find on tv or rent at the video store until 2000(I was pretty big into things like Sailor Moon, DBZ, and Pokemon because of this to the point where I would wake up at 5am on a Saturday to watch syndicated DBZ). In 2000 DVD came to me and I started with Gundam Wing one of my favorites. Now, I am here 500+ Dvds later and still going. I have been to 2 acens before in 2004 and 2005 college really kept me away since then (plus not having a job out of school for a year) but now I am going just for me.

Well, my friend and I will probably get into town late on Thursday, so we may be tired and not want to do much.

Then again, after three hours of driving a beer or two and meeting people sounds pretty nice.

Well I am cool with just hanging but thursday is a no go for me since I will not get to the con until early Friday morning. We could chill any time after that.

Alrighty, well that is fine with me too. I'd rather not stay up too late Thursday night, although I wonder how I'll even get to sleep with all the excitement! I'll be dressed as an older Hinata from Naruto on day one and Konan (Akatsuki) from Naruto on day two tagging along with a Shippuden Naruto and a sage mode Naruto. Come say hey!

I used to watch a lot of anime when I was younger like Vampire Hunter D, Sailor Moon, Devil Hunter Yohko, Zenki, Macross, Love Hina, Boys Be, Cowboy Bebop, Magic Knights Rayearth, Ninja Scroll, Baki the Grappler, Ogre Slayer, Baki the Grappler,etc etc.

I started getting into Inuyasha on Adult Swim, despite the horrific voice acting (I prefer subs), and then my cousin got me into Naruto (anime, and I'm getting caught up with the manga). I intend to start watching Bleach, and I watch Japanese doramas on the side as well. I think the other basic info about me is in my profile. Anything else you want to know, just ask!

Well, I'll probably be at the red bar meet up at 11PM Thursday night, not sure where that is headed though. Friday night after anime hell I am up for anything. Saturday night after the masquerade I am not sure what I will do. Soap bubble, but I will only go there if I am with several peeps over 21+, definitely want to get my groove on, but not around teenagers. There is a 21+ dance on Saturday night I was thinking about, I might try that. But there is another 21+ meet up at the red bar at 11PM. Interesting choices on Saturday night.

I'm 24, male, and I'll be arriving sometime Thursday. This will be my first time at ACen, so I'll definitely need to know some place I can go to. I'll keep the 21+ threads in mind when looking.

It is understandable that you will be busy you are staff although that is a reason I will not be staff since this is the closest thing I have had to a vacation in a couple years.

Oh I completely understand. Acen is my vacation from college and work, but at acen I always ALWAYS have soo much free time because what I basically do is stalk the dealers booths, check out artists alley, go to a few panels, take pics of cosplayers (and I cosplay as well, so im always stopped XD), go to the game rooms, watch some anime, go to a concert *if I like the band* and i dont go to the dances anymore because I dont like it when im part of an orgy and I was unaware that the orgy is surrounding me. Thats not fun. So thats about it. I like the fact that I can contribute something to an event that I've been a part of for so many years and I can be doing something productive. Yeah, im a freak XD

Don't Fret! You're only as young as you feel. I'm going to be turning 25 at the Con and I still feel 14 and immature. ;-)

AMEN brother! You are as young as you feel age is only a number. Turned 28 and physically feel that I am 16 and still pass for 19-22. Every ACEN i feel as if I just stared watching anime again for the first time.

I can say for sure I will not wear the clothes in my pic actually I have it all planned out.
Day 1: FMA "club" tshirt and jeans.
Day 2: Trigun "club" tshirt and jeans.
Day 3: One Piece tshirt and jeans.
All 3 days I will have the Core Drill around my neck. Also club shirts are the button down ones with a collar.

I plan on taking some of the had cuffs off myself and letting loose, so if you do see me say hi I will not bite, unless you are female and you ask . My badge name is the same as my handle here kirby. I also may have a stuffed boota with me for the fun of it ( I can do this kind of thing only at a con.). I know this thread was not what I hoped it would be(It died for 2 weeks then I kinda wrote it off) but I will do my best to not be shy and will be at the 21+ meet up on saturday.
