What: A 21+ Meetup
Where: At the Hyatt bar
When: Saturday, May 17th at 12 am (or Friday at midnight)
Who: Any con-goer, staff or guest member that wish to join us for a drink that is 21 or over!
What to bring: Your self, your friends, your roommates, whoever wishes to join us and of course bring some cash for a round of drinks or too.

I would be interested, I'm going to be in Indy on Thursday visiting college friends. In another thread we basically started a when I was young anime was.. discussion which I quite enjoyed. So I would purpose the "When I Was Young Anime Was.." unofficial panel at the Hyatt bar sometime after lunch time on Friday. That should make it so any of us travelers have time to get in, and plenty of time after.

Ooh good, I'm glad there's a few that is interested. I'm thinking Thursday or Friday night may be the best day, though maybe late? Like 10/11ish? Any preferences, ideas, etc?

I'm totally down for this. I was pretty much alone at the Hyatt bar last year (My one friend doesn't drink and my gf doesn't that much.) I'm planning on going to the meet and greet so if it was Thursday, I'd want it to be later, but if it's on Friday I think anytime is fine.

A poll would be good to get a date and time.

Sometime Friday would be better for me since I there's things outside of my Acen life I need to take care of Thursday night and I don't plan on showing up till mid morning Friday.

We also have to start discussing an area to meet.

If it's on Friday I would definatly come.
Especially since I can't go to the thursday meet and greet.

You can pick any of the hotel bars, and Gibson's steakhouse also has a bar.

One of the hotel bars would probably be a better bet, since no one would have to worry about who is the designated drivers.

Well, Gibsons is just right across the street, so no drivers needed... but I thought they were hella expensive.

Gibson's bar should charge the same as all the hotel bars. What I like about Gibson's is their bar stays open longer than the two in the Hyatt. I believe Gibson's bar is the hotel bar for the Embassy.

I say that the best place to meet would be the Hyatt bar. That way we can know everyone that is there is 21 and up and hopefully won't have too many minors around to bother us. Let alone, I'm staying in the Hyatt, so it's easy for me to get to.

I agree! If it's outside the hotel I might not wanna come.

I think Friday at midnight at the Hyatt bar is a good choice. I'll probably need to take a break from the other programming going on at that point anyway, or need a drink. One or the other.

So of the two bars in the Hyatt which one will we be meeting at?

I presumed there was only one, and that was on the floor with the resturaunt.

There's the big sports bar and the smaller bar that's attached to the restaurant that faces out toward the stairs.

Here's a question that just came to mind... has anyone ever had a problem with getting your ID checked while cosplaying?

I have...I had to take off my wig before the guy was convinced that it was me on the id! Even after I answered his millions of questions! He thought I was 16 and was maybe using my older sisters Id or something!
Good thing there was a nice random cosplayer there to help me put it back on!
I was Ed from FMA and the cosplayer who helped me was from Final Fantasy, which character I had no idea.

Just make sure to bring your id. Even if they ask, show them anyways. It's their job.

I hope you people plan to cosplay. I want to take pictures!

i might be able to come to this. the sports bar has more seating and not all the seats are the bar stools that are at the other bar.

The reason why I picked the actual bar is because it's easier to find and I don't expect too many to show up, let alone sports bars are always loud so it will be hard to have conversations.

Their sports bar is pretty spacious and not like a typical sports bar. I spent a lot of time there last year and found it to be a better bar than the other one.

If we need to, we can move there but since the regular bar is easy to find, I think that would be a good gathering place.

I think that I want to come to this with some friends. Of course, I'll have to see where I am on Friday at midnight. Con tends to have a way of bringing all sorts of random into my life. Toy store!
