I've decided that next year I am not cosplaying, but I'll try to prepare the gathering... and actually... if any of the Avatar cosplayers from last year want to actually be the big dog, then your more than welcome to. Just PM and I'll keep updating this post for you.

So anyone going to the Avatar Cosplay Group/Gathering, please vote when you want it... I don't know about you guys, but I really don't want the photoshoot to mess with main events... so 7:00 pm on Saturday would be bad, that's the masquerade. ^^; Uh... if we have a concert, it will be 7:00 pm on Friday, I believe... and then Anime Hell & Midnight Madness is right after the concert(if we have one) and a dance after the masquerade.

So... what day would be best for you guys? I voting Saturday Morning, but sometime Friday would be good.


Also!! If you aren't going to cosplay avatar, and are going to come to the gathering, reply please! We probably won't have that many as it is. ^-^U And you can vote too.

Saturday morning would definately be best for me!

I remember last year the FMA photoshoot was a bit to close to the masquerade, so I got in line a little late. Anything about 2 hours prior to the masquerade would be a no for me.

So yes, Saturday morning or perhaps early afternoon on that day.

It will more than likely be in the morning, only because I think the Bleach photoshoot(2nd one) will be on Saturday afternoon... and though I don't know if I'll participate in that one, I want to make sure everyone is going to be able to get to their one "things" =3:heart:

Just bumping this up for newer members, if any like Avatar and plan to cosplay it, and to let them know that it's not just for cosplayers... it will be more of a meet-up, so if you like Avatar, just confirm that you'll be there by saying something.

Speaking of Avatars, M. Night Shyamalan dives into the elements with his adaptation of Nickelodeon's popular anime-inspired 'toon, Avatar: The Last Airbender. He is set to produce, write and direct the adaptation, the first time Shyamalan is helming material he did not create. Nickelodeon hopes the movie will turn into a three-picture series.

For some reason, I want to suggest either Jin or Song, only because you rarely see cosplayers of them... but any of them would do... We already have a Toph... but that's the only female we have so far... anything is a go.





:NEWS TO ALL AVATAR MEET UP PEOPLE:

Due to the Hyatt's reconstruction, we do not know if they even have the location I picked out... once ACen has a map put up here, I will see... however, if not... I will be giving you all my phone number to call when we get to the con. I am going to be there Thursday, so I'll wander to see where our meet up use to be and if it still looks the same... I'll be taking my laptop and if I can pick up the Wireless Internet there, I will post something on here if it has changed, if you do not get on the forums on Thursday, then just call my number.

So far, the meeting is planned at 10:00 am... I expect it to be over around 11:30, but if it goes farther, that's cool. I will be bringing two boxes of Avatar Fruit Snacks for all of us to enjoy... because it's so worth it. -

One of my friends decided yesterday that she wanted to cosplay as Katara. So hopefully, if all goes well, she'll be coming too.

And a 10am photoshoot sounds good to me. I should be pretty much wide awake by then.

Still not sure what to think about Shyamalan's adaption of it. I think I'm scared.

I think most people are frightened... but I probably will go see it anyways, only because it's Avatar, who knows... it may get more people into the fandom *shrug*

And of course there will be fruit snacks!! We all love yummy treats =d

Fruit Snacks are a go. I have bought two boxes of them, meaning twenty packets... so twenty people who show up, will get treats. =3

Also, I am going to close the poll soon. It seems Saturday morning is the time everyone choses and let me tell you all, when I mean morning... I'm talking about 10, allright? Believe me, I am a fan of Midnight Madness, so I want a little bit of sleep... and I plan on setting three alarms in my room(my room clock, my ipod, and my phone)... so I'll make sure to be down by our meeting place(which as far as I know is still by the fountain where the video programming rooms were last year)

Which, for a lot of you, if you don't know where that's located... when you're in line for check-in, right after the ecalator, look to your right. That little room(if it's still there) has a fountain in it and a few rooms... that's our meeting place. For a photoshoot, we may head outside, which there are doors to the outside right there. -


So, question I have for everyone who is and wants to attend the group gathering is... Saturday at 10:00, is that okay for you all?

If we are expecting more than 20 people (which right now...doesnt look like we are) I could bring an extra box of the fruit snacks.

10am is just fine for me. I'm usually up early on con Saturday's anyway.

And I'm pretty sure I know where that fountain is. I've passed it like...once in all the times I've been to ACen. But I know where I'm going. I just hope things didn't change too much in the renovation...or I'll be confused x_x

Also, I started my Blue Spirit mask today! Yay x3 This was my biggest worry on the costume but it looks like its gonna turn out just fine.

ooooo Avatar! Im debating on either Katara or Ty Lee but Im leaning towards Katara because I dislike the color pink and Ty Lee wears a lot of pink.

I suggest that we do a cosplay meet up on saturday, AND that we have a group hang out. Those are always more fun, because most of the time afterwords you're in a genuinely happy mood to where you want to hang with the ppl. (my Zuko might be going with, but as far as I'm concerned he's busy doing other things. sigh.)

hmmm.... well, our cosplay meet up/group gathering is on Saturday Morning, and I only have it as morning cause I know a lot other things will be going on and people will want to be elsewhere. Though a group hang out would be a lot of fun, I just don't know when would be a good time... for the most part, people get rather busy during ACen... and I know I'll be all over the place, but if anyone else wants to do a group hang out, I'm game if we can all come up with a time and place. ^^- But as it stands right now our only cosplay photoshoot/gathering is at 10am on Saturday.

I think it's safe to say that even the convention veterans are going to be lost. I know I am going to be very confused and as soon as they have maps up and everything, I am going to print them off and study them but not only that, they usually give you a map in your program guide book... so, we'll be able to find our meet up, but like I said, when it gets closer to may, I am going to PM everyone and give them my phone number, so if it's hard to find, we'll just meet up in front of the Hyatt... cause either way, we are having this meet up/photoshoot. =3

yeah, this is my forth year at acen. so I know about the packets and things of that sort. (I just dont use the forums, and I lost my old forum account though.) Ug, I still get lost in the halls at acen. Alrght, I'll give you my number too. (mom has my cell phone right now though urg.)

we now might have a Dai Lee adgent, and we'll only have TomTom on friday if mom lets me 'barrow' him. So I wont have him for the photo shoot, but I will be walking around most of friday night with him, azula, ty lee and katara. all are welcome to hang with us if they like!

If season 3 is running again by the time ACen rolls around I MIGHT think about having a viewing party, if possible. It all depends on if its airing, if I feel like having a viewing party, and if there is any event that conflicts with that.

Friday at 7:00(usual time Avatar airs at Central time, right?)?? I think that's the time for new Avatar episodes right? And I do not think anything major is at that time... the only thing I can think of is the concert. And though I like High and Mighty Color, I'd rather watch a new episode of Avatar in a viewing party. ^___^- So, if that's the only thing I have going on, I'll ditch the concert...


SO!! Friday - Avatar Viewing Party... if there is a new episode, is everyone/anyone game? And who would allow their room to be filled with otaku to watch it? I'll talk about it with my sister, but I don't know if she'd be all too happy with that... so... yeah! =3

I might be able to lend my room out for it. But I'm over at the Embassy Suites and at this point...I have no idea if they have Nickelodeon or not. I think they will though...most hotels I've been to do have it. I also don't know my room number yet.

I've always wanted to do this XD I had a season finale party with my friends, but that was only a few people. But this is just 10 times better =D

Hopefully Nick will actually be AIRING new episodes by then >.> At this point we still have no idea what month these episodes even air.

More than likely they'll have two viewings of the H&M Color concert... one on Friday and one on Saturday. ^^- Cause I do remember The Pillows(05, I think) played before Anime Hell and I believe before the Masquerade as well, but I could be wrong...

I wont know my room number till I check in Friday morning. I'll be at the Embassy Suites, NOT the Hyatt. But what I'm thinking I could do is either...

A: Get peoples numbers and I can use my phone to send a text message containing the room number to everyone who wants to come. It'll be faster than calling since I can send the same text to several phone numbers all at once.

OR

B: Schedule a meeting in the Embassy Suites lobby sometime between 6 and 6:30 or so then take everyone up to the room with me.

I'll try to provide drinks/snacks whatever to everyone as well :3

Also. As long as High and Mighty Color performs on Friday and Saturday, then I can just go Saturday.

Anymore party ideas would be great. If everyone wants to get together for a rave group that would be cool too. (I've done that before, it's realllllllly fun.) I declare that everyone should get out of charcter for the dance and go nuts if we do.

Anime Hell/Midnight Madness has always been 'my thing' and I will be going to the Soap Bubble this year.... I am trying to make time though, really I am... I also want to shop too!! I'll definately be at the Soap Bubble this year! I figured as long as I'm cosplaying as The Blue Spirit for the rest of the con that I should stick with a sort of 'Zuko' theme for the whole con. So for the Soap Bubble I'm going as a self designed Raver!Zuko xDD

I've already got a few friends that I'm sure would join me for the room party. I've got friends who are staying in a room connected to mine and some friends staying in my room. Half of them like Avatar while the others could care less. Though I'm sure the ones that don't will be out enjoying the con anyway xD

The rooms aren't that big, but hey, we can all get cozy! You'll probably have a Double Bed Room, right? I will take just about anything as long as it's on the 5-4 floor... that's why I hope I get there halfway early so I can get a room on a lower floor.
