It probably is an American thing, but in all fairness, ACen IS getting games from an arcade during a weekend, during peak times of the week, and since they're not being charged rental fees, this is the only way it would make sense for the arcade to loan out their machines. Rental fees could be atrocious compared to just pay-to-play, and may not make it worth it for the con. It's so rare to find someone that would be willing to simply donate for no charge.

I don't know if I've ever tried the Sanwa or Suzo sticks, because I thought they primarily made Japanese parts (and I do believe Japan uses the ball-and-stick configuration rather than the straight sticks Americans use), and while I don't have a problem with Japanese styles sticks overall, there are games I have a horrible time playing with, i.e. MvC2, probably because I'm not used to the smaller range of motion.

I noticed the games are coming from Nickel City.

That means it only nickels can be put in the games.

I saw mention of a Nickel City attendent will be there.

BUT!

Will a change machine be there so we HAVE nickels to play?

I was at Reactor last October, and they got some machines from the same place, but, alas, no nickel change machine. It didn't take long for the hotel consession stand to stop making change for the arcade people, and I found it next to impossible to locate nickels from other con goers--at least not enough for me to play. *luckily scrounged up enough to get one play of DDR*

No it doesn't. Games should be running on quarters this year, and we should have at least 1 quarter changer.

YAY! That makes me happy. I just didn't want a repeat of Reactor where the loss of one nickel almost kept me from playing.

though I'll doubt I'll play much in the arcade, I'll get a roll of quarters from the bank or something.

Just noticed this thread, need to clear up a few things.

Badguy, I also like console better simply because I can use my Namco stick but cabinet is fine and its a nice addition as an extra. You dont know what you are talking about though with certain things, MvC2 on PS2/Xbox sucks and no one touches it, cabinet is always the standard when avaliable for that game. You make good arguments in some cases but you did come off as a bit arrogant/rude.

Also, I think I last played Floe at the UIC tournament and I beat him, he won the bi weekly after that but if I am not mistaken i lost to juicy G, though Ari might have beat me, i forgot.

I am taking any money matches in reload for any ammount. I will even do special no faust matches for people who arnt confident about their skills.

I just wanted to say that this game room this year was marvellous and filled with wonders. You all did a great job of getting a ton of awesome games there. (I just wish I'd had time enough to play on all of them, I just played on PPP a couple of times..) I really wanted to try Beatmania, but I haven't ever played it before and I'd have looked dumb, haha.

I would say the chances are VERY high... just an "educated" guess.
