DDR Extreme American version is -HORRIBLE-. Such a crappy song list. If you want Extreme for PS2, get the Japanese version. That is all.

If they don't bring back Sakura, Twin Bee, Gamelan de Couple, and Burning Heat I will NEVER play DDR again.

Sakura is absolute CRAP on DDR.

-Steps suck.
-Song is shorter.

If you want to EXPERIENCE the true awesomeness of Sakura, play Beatmania IIDX 8th Style...where it's the FULL song, and you can enjoy it alot more...

IIDX>DDR

I wouldnt go so far as to say it sucks... but i will say what were they thinking..... ReMixes of ?Madona? and the likes we dont need them.... come up with some crazy new songs for us to dance to. I personally found the eye toy to be amusing but didint like the fact that you coulndt change the difficuty. i found the minni games to be more of a novelty thing.

I tend to find that if you just go for it and play... its not that bad.

You people speak for like 5% of the console DDR audience. I'd say roughly 80% of the people I see buy DDR (I work retail) are just regular people, who are buying it for their kids to excersize or because they think their kids will get a kick out of it. Konami knows this, which is why the game is the way it is. If the game is too "Japanesey" or harder, it most likely won't sell as much, and alienate all the people who would buy it.

Its a fun game. =o

Too bad any monkey can take any song in existance, make a stepchart in a few minutes, and create their own songs for Stepmania.

I borrowed this game from a friend of my and got most of my family to play it. Watching my Cousin Jake dance to Like A Virgin was funny. Watching my other Cousin Ben trying to breakdance to Love Love Shine was hilarious. As was watching my Mom's mother trying to dance to Your Rain. My sister played Move Your Feet so many times I will forever have that song burned into my brain. It was amusing watching them trying in vain to reach my score.

I don't mean to brag but...I've AAA'd Highs Off U on Standard....twice.

Twice because, well...I forgot to save it after the first and I had already turned off my PS2. I promptly turned it BACK ON and took me about 7-10 more attempts to AAA it again.

This was the night before we were supposed to move out of the dorms this passed semester....in other words, last month. :sweatdrop

*sigh* why the need to talk about scores and getting so and so grade...it gets annoying, since it becomes a contest, and anyone can say they beat some song on super awesomely hard or what not, lets just stick to talking about the games and why we like/hate it...not how amazingly skilled we are at it...cause anyone can say something liek that...

I got triple X on MAX 583. The game started showing me goofy pictures of women.

I got scared and turned off the PS2.

Then I woke up, and realised I don't own the game.

How coincidental. I was just talking to a friend last night about how kids these days treat DDR like another contest or a way to boost their ego by getting better grades.

It's a friggin' dancing game.

If you need complete songlists, try either http://www.ddrfreak.com, or http://www.gamefaqs.com (for unlockable songs as well).

For the people comparing Extreme US and JP, you people also realize you can't even being to compare the two? Extreme JP is the same friggin' thing as the arcade, minus a ton of songs, and adding a couple new ones in there? Yeah blah blah blah, because it's Japanese it's better. You know what though, major props to Konami of America for releasing something DIFFERENT for the US, and Konami of Japan for letting the Americans get something new and different before they do (see: DDR Festival). Japan and US have WAY different audiences, you can't even say that the two compare because they're two completely different markets.

And no, I'm sorry but Sakura is better on IIDX (plus it's much harder). Besides, IIDX doesn't even have steps. Don't knock it if you don't even know what it is, eh?

Dont freaking tell me what i do and dont know.. i dont like that... right now you have seriously pissed me off with this post... poeple have their opinions.. and let it be. i know that Beatmania doesnt have steps... whatever... no i dont know what they are called but i know what i am tlaking about... i just feel that Sakura is better for DDR... .. its not really harder though... all you use is your fingers.. but DDR you actually move.. thats makes it harder.. So yes i will knock it thank you . I think what poeple are comparing here from Extreme JP and Extreme US is their selection of songs.. to be honest they dont have many of the extreme songs found in the arcade.. most people on these forums here wanted that.. thus the reason for comparing the 2 extreme games. So yes they can be compared :P .. evidentally the American Audience wants the Jp Extreme ....hmmm... yeah illleave it at that... i sort of lost my train of though and am now rambling.. so ill end it...
thats my 2 cents .... 0_o 1 1/2 cents.. lol :D

edit... changed swear .. dont feel like getting in trouble .. plus i cooled off and tried to explain it a little bit... :D

One more thing... just because its japanese doesnt always mean its better..Not true,, most of us wanted the somgs the JP extreme thus making this japanese thing better

Hmmm. "Drop the Bomb" and "Tsugaru" are in there, at least. (Thanks Baka for the site refs) It sucks that they didn't put in "La Copa de la Vida," "Dam Dariram," or "Sakura" in there, tho. ><

ROFL!

DDR = One of the easier Bemani games.
Beatmania IIDX = Argueably THE hardest Bemani game

DDR = 4 foot panels
IIDX = 7 keys and a turntable

DDR = Sakura on "heavy" has 446 steps
IIDX = Sakura on "7-key" has 819 notes (that's not even the hardest difficulty. The "another" has 1123 notes)

Not to mention that Sakura originated from IIDX

In conclusion, Sakura is a horrible song

and here is where I point out the beautiful thing called Stepmania.... all the songs you want... only problem is... you have to find the songs and the step files...

but hey... it curbs my need for my favorite songs from the extreme arcade, and 2nd mix, and 3rd mix... and 4th mix....

But just to add,,, Sakura is a fun song... but also look at it like this..

DDR Sakrua has 446 steps.. yes...
and IIDX has 819/1123 Notes
BUT!!!! DDR has to feet
Beatmania has 4-6 fingers to use

So it is in General pretty equal... i do like DDR more thoguh. When playing Beatmania it is harder to remember the notes but can easily be done with a little practice..

DDR does tire you out more too.. you need more energy to play DDR
I am not saying here that Beatmaina is easy.. in fact its hard to start.
I like playing Beatmania.

All in all Sakura is not harder nor easier on Beatmania as is on DDR. i have nothign else ot say . :D
