Hello everyone!

First off I want to thank everyone that came to Anime Central 2004! We are here because of you and we as a staff take pride in putting on a great convention for all! With that aside I want to officially open the 2005 convention year. I am currently working very hard to get the year started off in the right direction. The Vice-Chair has already been picked and we are currently working on the selection of Section Chiefs. The Vice-Chair for this year is Rob Hogan. Rob has worked in both Registration and Convention Operations; he is a wonderful guy that will work hard for this convention. Any questions you have can be forwarded to me or him, though Rob will be handling most of the forum work in my stead as am not much of a forum person.
In addition to getting the year started, some changes are coming up on the horizon for improvements to the convention. I will get in to more detail about that later, once the top management is in place.

I am honored to serve as the Con-Chair this year and I look forward to talking with everyone and making wonderful ideas happen this convention year!

Let me be the first forum member to congratulate you on your appointment. I know you wouldn't have been chosen if no one thought you could arrange an awesome con. I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll have planned for us in 2K5!
ACen never dies! It just goes to the forums! Hilarity ensues!
I came here to kick butt and chew bubblegum and my feet are killing me!

Jon has been one of the most hard-working individuals for the con that I have had the privilege of knowing, and I hav eno doubt that he will continue to lead Anime Central to bigger and better things. I have the utmost confidence in his and Rob's abilities and I am certain they will do their best to listen to you attendees and make this con better than before. They deserve every bit of respect that was given to myself and Locke and more.

Here's to ACen 2005 and beyond! ;)

Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is having a good summer. Well we're already hard at work with planning. I am really looking forward to having the opportunity to work with so many great people, and to produce an event that so many people enjoy.

I encourage everyone to continue to use the forums as a a place for community building and feedback. I will be making a presence on the forums and ask to follow the guidelines that Frank has used in the past.

I also encourage you to contact me via private message should you have any questions or concerns, but ask that you make your mesages concise.

i.e. If you have a concern, try to use a similar format as below:

Sentence 1: tell me what happened
Sentence 2: tell me why it bothered you
Sentence 3: tell me how you think we can better the situation in the future

(Example)

Me and a friend were walking through the exhibit hall when Frank beat us up and took our lunch money. The bothered me and my friend because we thought he was a nice guy, and we liked the way he danced. In the future, I think Frank should be banned from all future ACEN activities to maintain a safe environment for people with lunch money.

.....

Using an easy to read format like this will help me to group like comments, but also there is a greater chance I will read something short and to the point, rather than a 3 page rant. In the future, we can discuss the situation more, and that's when details can be brought up.

Well other than that, I look forward to helping put on a great con again this year.

Hope everyone has a great summer.

On behalf of myself and the now-dubbed Spoony Bards (a.k.a., the musical entourage that played in the Hyatt Lobby, complete with a "One Winged Angel" concert which'll be revamped and arranged so that we're not sight-reading the blasted piece again and will be better than ever), congrats! I'm sure that you guys'll do a fantastic job and have Anime Central '05 be the millenium's best thus far. (lol)

Yeah. I need to make my message at least 10 characters long, so I typed up this sentence. This conversation probably shouldn't continue in this thread, though.

Actually, I'm quite a sociable person. Wouldn't have danced badly otherwise. :)

I don't think it's possible to be Convention Chair and be shy.

Hi Jon

Any word when pre-reg will open up for 2005?

I have one more thing I wanna humbly request :D Is there any way the trip to the dealers room could be shorter. I only ask cause I'm handicapped and it's kinda hard for me to push my wheelchair up that sky walk area. At least at a good pace anyway. The way to the dealers area is mostly up hill so i went kinda slow. I felt kinda guilty cause their was usually a long line of people behinde me but theirwas little i could do. People were usually cool about it but it was still a pain. A very few people got a little upset but I don't blame them. I hated it too. A few people were nice enough to push me so that was cool. and the walk was a nice way to meet people once I was in the convention center. But I found myself weeving in and out between the air conditioners in that small walkway so people could pass. And I was late for a few events because of that. I gotta be honest by Sunday that got very old. Look, all in all I loved acen and I don't wanna give anyone a hard time, but if their is any way I can aviod that in 05 it would be great. Do u think it would be ok to call on a staffer to give me a push or would they be to busy?? Or if anyother acen attendee is reading this and wants to make a few extra bucks lemme know. What are your thoughts Jon?? I welcome feedback from others as well :)
