I know a few people had expressed interest in having a small craft beer get together Thursday night during the 21+ m&g. I was just curious to see how many people want to do this. Ideally, maybe everyone brings a bottle and we can all just hang out and share beer and conversation. (If anyone is coming from Vermont, Heady Topper is encouraged. :P)

Anyhow , I just thought it would be fun to knock a couple of want list beers out and make a few friends doing it.

I'll be game. From ohio. I could bring some local Columbus, OH brews. Any styles people are interested in?

Can do growlers too.

If someone, somehow was coming someplace that has Pliny's, I want to give those a shot.

I'll probably bring Dragon's Milk for the stout heads and maybe a mixed six of offerings from Binnys.

hey, I am interested in a craft beer meet up. I'm from Chicago and i can get a couple small brewery stuff. if anyone is also bringing any rare beers instead of some store shelf stuff, i can bring some beers i have been saving for a special occasion like dark lord, chocolate rain, pliny, kbs, etc.

I'm in Michigan and can bring some.
The one's near me are Dragon's Mead and Kuhnhenn Brewery (Growler's only). A friend of our's lives near Founder's Brewery as well.
Let me know what everyone's interests are (stouts, ales, etc.) and I'll see what I can afford to grab.

I don't have access to anything rare, unfortunately. I wish I did. If nothing else, I'd kick in for someone's trouble if they do bring something tough to find.

takahashiakio: no worries man, ive gone to some great lengths to find some beers, some that people would think im crazy for doing. ill poke around my stash and see what can fit the occasion.

lemonchatta: ive been in search of beer only released in michigan from Founders, called Inspired Artist Black IPA and Smoked Porter. IPA was released a while ago and the porter came out last month. i was wondering if you can find them i can compensate or share something

I'm pretty new to the craft beer game, with around 70 unique beers to my downed list. Rare stuff eludes me big time. I am certain whatever you bring will be very, very appreciated on my part. Thank you so much!!

I do believe I have seen both at the store. I shall take a look tomorrow and if need be, I can have my friend pick them up from the brewery. I'm not a beer person;the boyfriend is. I'm more all about my wine. :)

Rare beers? I'll see what I can scrounge up. I doubt they'll be considered rare...likely just more local.

Regional rarity is very real. Lol.

I'm bringing Southern Tier Crème Brûlèe and Dragon's Milk Reserve. It's not much, but they are good stouts.

I am down for this craft beer thing. Maybe I could try to bring some Brasilian beer?

A lot of beers are distributed throughout different states so some are hard to find in Illinois but easy in New York.

Here's a list of the top 250 beers in the US
http://www.beeradvocate.com/lists/top/

Closer to number 1 the better :P
If you guys can find some only available in your state that would be really great, especially small time breweries.

Absolutely. I'll only be taking Dixie cup size samples of any beers brought, and I'll gladly throw a few bucks in toward a rarity if need be.

Hey guys what time were you thinking about doing this? Into craft beer and will be around on Thursday for a bit but am not spending the night and will be driving home to the southwest suburbs. I do have a few of those beers on the top 20 of that list, not really sure what I would end up bringing though.

I was thinking it would take place during the 21+ after party, but I'm open to what you all might want to do. I figured the meetup would be easy cause there was a room to host and plenty of people. I won't be able to host as I'm sharing a room, but let's see what everyone has in mind.

No competing events! ;) Just kidding. I'm sure there will be more than enough room for you guys in the suite. The one he had last year would have been fine- and I guess this one is even bigger.

My apologies! I didn't even think to ask. Terribly rude of me. Sorry about that!

Does anyone have access to Not Your Father's Root Beer? Binnys is probably sick of me asking by now, and no one else has it locally.

There's a place that sells it in the tap in Chicago- not sure if they have bottles though.

I've heard tales of back door growler fillings, but bottles are just impossible. I want to do NYFRB floats again, darn it.
