Hey everyone, I was just wondering about the 6" policy for props and such. I'm going as Zabuza from Naruto and as some of you may know, he uses an obnoxiously large sword. Posted Image

I was hoping someone could kinda sorta tell me (preferably staff) if this was acceptable. I don't want to get there only to find out I can't use it. Any help would be phenomenal! :D/>

Here's another pic that might help ---> http://i139.photobuc...zps2dc10453.jpg

...the handle also is removable so woo!

I ran into the same problem a few years ago when I was Cosplay Ichigo from bleach and the sword I had made was too big (5ft in length). When I took it to the ACen prop check I just barely got approved to carry it around. The ACen staff at the prop check told me to make sure next time all my props are 4ft in length or under 4ft to be allowed to carry it around and the rules are in the guide book and on the ACen website about prop rules.

According to the ACen rules, a prop is UNACCEPTABLE if it is "...longer than your height. If you are less than four feet tall, your props may be up to four feet long. Props that are too long may be carried in pieces and reassembled for pictures."

So it seems like you should be good, according to the official rules. The 6-inch rule is for things sticking off your body, like spikes and tails.

General costume rules are here: http://www.ACen.org/content/ACen-rules

Good thing I read this topic...
Sephiroth's sword is like 8 feet long... and I think I made it 6, which is a little taller than me :/

If you can break it down into pieces that are the height of you or less is alright I think. I carried a 7 foot key prop for two years and I'm 5 foot 8.
