Anime Central is proud to present, from AWR Music Productions, producers of the internationally acclaimed concert tour Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY, a new FINAL FANTASY musical experience: A New World: intimate music from FINAL FANTASY! Two concert performances will be held at Anime Central featuring game series Music Composer Nobuo Uematsu and GRAMMY® Award-winning Music Director Arnie Roth, renowned pianist Benyamin Nuss, and The New World Players. This is an event not to be missed by FINAL FANTASY or music fans alike!

Since the debut of FINAL FANTASY in 1987, the franchise has been one of the most popular video games in the world. The lush, tone-setting, character-defining musical score created for the games by a team of composers led by Uematsu, also has amassed a legion of fans who pack the world's most respected concert venues, including Royal Albert Hall, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Sydney Opera House, Tokyo International Forum and many more. For A New World: intimate music from FINAL FANTASY, Music Director Arnie Roth has devised a reimagined FINAL FANTASY concert: a pure live music experience specifically designed to take advantage of the musical intimacy of a smaller live performance venue, featuring arrangements for string quartet, piano and guitar solos, duos, trios and other mixed groups of instrumentalists. The new FINAL FANTASY arrangements are written by Arnie Roth and Eric Roth of AWR Music Productions, the critically-hailed team behind the Distant Worlds concerts, with additional arrangements by Shiro Hamaguchi, Uematsu's longtime collaborator on the FINAL FANTASY video game soundtrack recordings.

"For this unique concert experience, we have mined the vast FINAL FANTASY musical catalogue to choose some of the most-loved selections," said Roth. "The breadth of Uematsu’s work is astounding, encompassing traditional orchestral and operatic work as well as pop-inspired ballads. While the overwhelming reaction of audiences - and even veteran musicians - to this music, is always thrilling, A New World will introduce audiences to the music from FINAL FANTASY on a personal and intimate scale that has yet to be experienced."

A New World: intimate music from FINAL FANTASY will be presented Friday, May 16th and Saturday, May 17th, 2014 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. The performances will only be open to Anime Central 2014 badge holders whose badges are valid for the day of the performance. Additionally, since seating is limited, a ticket will be necessary to gain entry. Tickets will be distributed free of charge, on a first come first served basis at the ticket booths inside the registration area of the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center. Tickets for each day's concert will be distributed the same day as the performance, beginning at 8:00 am when the registration area of the convention center opens until no more tickets for that day's performance remain. Any preformed line outside the convention center will first be escorted into the ticketing area when doors open at 8:00 am. There will only be 750 tickets available for each concert, attendees will only be eligible to attend one of the two shows, and badge holders must be present with their badges to obtain a ticket. Anime Central registration information can be found at http://www.acen.org/...gistration-info.

Will there be a separate line from the registration line to get tickets for the concert? Or will we have to wait in the actual registration line even if we have our badges already (ex mailed to us)?

There will be a separate line for tickets that goes to its own pickup area. We'll make it very apparent which line is for what.

I'm not a FF fan personally, but this might be just what I need to get my friend who's on the fence to go...even though it's not for me, I still think this is an AWESOME guest for the majority of ACen attendees. Props for bringing it to ACen!

How is this going to work with disability services so that those of us that can not wait in lines can go as well?

Thank you for bringing up this very important question. Please check in with our ADA Compliance/Special Needs folks when you arrive at the convention. I will work with them to ensure those who cannot stand in lines are able to get admission to one of the concerts. Please let them know which concert you would like to attend and whether you will need space for a wheelchair.

Oh boy...I guess I better start praying since my chance of getting one of the 1500 tickets is slim...

Let me ask myself...would I rather spend all night Thursday night waiting for a ticket or all night Friday night waiting for a ticket?

Quick question, who's going to be the conductor for this event? Does this mean that Mr. Uematsu and Mr. Roth will be there, or am I reading that wrong? And if they are, will they be hosting panels?

Arnie Roth will be conducting/directing. Nobuo Uematsu will be at both of the performances. I believe Arnie and Uematsu-san will be performing a piece or two (violin and piano respectively) during each of the concerts.

At this point, we are planning on one Q&A session with both Arnie and Uematsu-san. We have talked about perhaps having one more appearance, but our time with them is limited as they need to fly to Omaha Saturday evening for 2 Sunday performances there. I will be doing my damnedest to get guest event/panel schedules out as early as possible this year.

Ken good luck with that. I certainly know a fan of Final Fantasy who would love to see one of these concerts. Thank you for that information, really appricate this and it would be great to know their scheduled set ups. I'm assuming no autographs at this time due to time limit. Will there happen to be a CD of their concert at the booths? I really would like to get a cd of this.

I'm pretty sure they'll have stuff available. They sell dvds. T shirts. Cds. Everything. I went to one of these concerts in 2011 in chicago and all that stuff was right outside the concert so i'm sure there'll be something.

Thanks for the information- I will do that. Now- I want to ask- are you going to allow us to bring people in with us as well? For all other events it's usually us +3 other people (example being masquerade, other concerts, fashion shows etc) that way we aren't forced to attend alone. Thanks again.

I believe the only restriction on this will be no photography/video. I will double check with Square Enix/AWR Music to find out for certain.

I actually discussed this with other ACen management over the weekend. They apparently have different ideas on how to handle this than I do. While I would like to allow our ADA Compliance folks to handle access for those with disabilities, others want to require everyone to be present at 8am for ticket distribution. While those who cannot stand for long periods of time would not have to be in line, they would be required to be present. There is an ADA Compliance booth adjacent to the ticket distribution booth.

In short, how this is going to be handled is now up in the air. I need to hash it out with ADA Compliance and the other involved management. I'm sorry I may have fed you some misinformation to this point. As soon as I have the actual process worked out, I will let you know.

Will there be an autograph session for Uematsu-san? If so, will concert attendees get priority or will it be first come, first served for everyone?

Well that is frustrating to say the least- but not your fault. Yes please do let us know what you all decide.

If we do indeed need to be there- I understand that point, though I think it'll make it more complicated for all parties. My one suggestion would be that they have a stack of tickets already at the booth to give to those with disabilities- so they do not need to run to the ticket booth and back.

So, does this mean that there will be a line separate from the registration line formed outside of the lobby to go to the ticket booths? I would love to be at either of the concerts. Thank you El Ken for your work in getting this and Abe for the con this year.

I've set some preliminary times for the concerts, but I need to double check those against other programming events before finalizing them. Unfortunately, I'm also out of the country right now, so it will be at least a week before I can do so. I'll announce the times as soon as I can. Sorry for the wait!
