This year at ACen we will be hosting on Friday, a special kind of Smash Bros tournament. For those unfamiliar with Project M, there are many links and videos available on Youtube to see gameplay. Here is a tutorial video to peak your interest: Project M Youtube vid

Basically, its Smash Bros Brawl with Melee physics. No more floaty slow combo's. Everything is fast paced and much more competitive. The only down side to this is there are a few characters the developers have not quite finished working on, which are; Samus, Olamar, Ice Climbers, Yoshi, Kirby and Meta Knight. Every one else is still in it, including Zerosuit Samus. A few characters have a new set of combo's/moves as well. Please feel free to check out the overview of your favorite characters and the changes made here: Project M Characters
The tournament, if scheduling goes as planned, is Friday at 2PM, I do not have specifications on which room it will be in. But, I am sure its either in the game room itself or a specific room seperate for tournaments. The printed programs will have this material posted in the schedule section under Special Smash, look for the 2PM slot.
We want to have a prize based system for the first place up through 4th. Suggestions on what people would like to see for prizes would be greatly appreciated, as we are still trying to figure out what to give out.
If you have questions or concerns, pitch a comment and i will return an answer as quickly as possible.

I'm unsure how many Wii's will be available for the game room, I would expect ATLEAST 2. I will definitely be bringing my personal Wii and 3 Gamecube controllers plus a Classic controller attachment. If you have a personal controller you would like to bring and use, please feel free to bring it as well. just remember to label it when you come in.
There is NO entrance fee, it is completely public, so even the not so experienced players can get a chance and still possibly win at no cost. Registration for tournament will be in the Game Room, tournament is at 2PM Friday.
Seeing as though the tournament schedule for the game room is pretty packed, please sign up in advance so we can start promply at 2.
If there is a slim amount of participants, games will be 1 v 1, 5 stock. However, if we get a larger amount of people it'll be free for all, 4 players, 5 stock. We're looking to offer double elimintation, but this as well depends how many show up. Weapons will be off. Stages will be on random. Players can rotate charcters between matches.

Awesome, I was hoping to see some P:M action this year! I do think that if there ends up being a large number of entrants that you should still do 1-vs-1 matches (3 or 4 stock best of 3, perhaps) with free-for-all serving as a qualifying round for the sake of time, but count me in either way.
Just a warning though, since Project M requires you to delete all of the custom stages on the system you might run into some trouble trying to use the game room's Wiis to set it up.
