Why wouldn't it be? Just curious what specifically in the policies made you think chainmail was unacceptable.

Just the fact it was metal. My first time going. Just wanted to make sure before I went there. Somebody told me it wasn't ok, so I figured on asking.

Did you check the policies page? http://www.ACen.org/content/ACen-rules Nothing in there says metal is illegal. Maybe they were confused on the "live steel" policy, which has nothing to do with chainmail or any other metal that isn't a sword/weapon.

Chainmail is not live steel. Live steel, from the policies page is defined as "Any object crafted from metal with a blade or pointed edge, sharp or blunt". Chainmail shirts do not have a blade or pointed edge. I would venture to say that even scalemail would not fall under the category "live steel".

Yeah, pretty sure the policies are in place for things that can potentially hurt people, not stuff that is designed to protect you. ^_^
