Yatagarasu has been getting talked about recently. From what I've seen I'm a bit skeptical, but I have enjoyed a good number of doujin fighters in the past. To name a few: Akatsuki BK, Super Cosplay War Ultra, Big Bang Beat, Big Bang Beat Revolve, Vanguard Princess, and Melty Blood Act Cadenza. I really want to get my hands on Chaos Code...

Anyways, are there any other fans of doujin fighters around here? Anything anyone can recommend? Maybe someone can give their expert analysis of Yatagarasu, because despite the team working the game, I have my doubts. Nicalis has published some pretty neat games in the past, though.

My high school days were filled with Melty Blood, Eternal Fighter Zero and Mugen...

Then in college was Magical Girl Battle Arena.

I didn't get into MUGEN until I was in college, but I had to quit because it was causing my operating system to become unstable.

Melty Blood is probably the top in terms of quality. The newest version with Shiki Ryougi and Archetype Earth has INSANE variety.

One game I wish would already get released is Card Sagas Wars:

I am surprised 12.3 is not mentioned XD Golden Fantasia are fun to play as well if you are a fan of Umineko.
We will actually cover these games during our Doujin 101 panel for ACen, in case u are interested.

Melty Blood is alright, but it's a little broken. I think that Akatsuki BK and its sequels should get a little more respect in terms of gameplay and style. The latest iteration of Big Bang Beat Revolve is also pretty good.

I gave up on Card Sagas Wars a long time ago. It looks really cool, but I don't think it'll ever be finished.

I've been looking at all these doujin games that have been posted and they seem really cool. I'll have to reach out and see what else I can find.

I use to be a beast in Golden Fantasia and that's how I got into Umineko no Naku Koro Ni! Now I'm just slugghish and out of practice. I can hold my own against a few players but I still get my butt whoop if I play against decent players. I use to main with Ange until she got nerfed to all hell.

Melty Blood is a good doujin fighting game series but I really wish I would had gotten into it back when I was in high school.

The Touhou fighters are also pretty decent. Different, but decent.

Anybody know if any of these games are gonna be set up in some way at the convention? I'd like to see some good players go at it. I've got a bunch on my PC, but I only really got half-decent at Akatsuki BK (and that was a looong time ago).

This is RIDICULOUS!

I guess that makes the game slightly more legitimate.
