I'm buying two wigs from Arda and my question is that would it be better to style it on my own, even though I have no experience cutting wigs, or would it be safer to call someone like a stylist? Or would it be better to get someone who knows how to do cosplay wigs for the characters I want?

My issue is that if I find someone professionally it might cost me an arm and a leg to do two wigs in the way I want.

If it's a basic style just go slowly and read a lot of tutorials first and you'll be fine. :) It's not as scary as it seems. :) If it's something REALLY crazy you might be better off commissioning someone :)

It mainly up to you. Doing a little research always help. There are a lot of online video tutorials that can show you how to cut and style a wig as well as webpages.

If styling a wig scares you (afraid to ruin the wig), you can call or visit local salons and ask how much it would cost to have a stylist do it. You could also commission someone to style a wig for you. However, styling a wig yourself will save you extra money over the other two options. If you're interested in trying to style a wig yourself, start off by searching to How-To videos. Youtube has a good amount of them ^_^/>

Well, if you want to, asking someone you know styles good wigs is a safe route to go. Any place that cuts hair will cut your wig for you, if you just need a trim on it or a different cut style than it has out of the package. However if you do what the posters above me said, and watch tutorials and learn to do it yourself, it'll save you money and you will get better at it. It's not hard to cut a wig; They are actually a lot more forgiving than real hair, at least in my experience.

The problem is not me doing it but messing up and having to buy 60 dollars in wigs again. I really never did this before.

EDIT: also on topic where do you buy low rider/low back tennis shoes? I can't seem to find any on ebay in brown or other wise. I keep finding clogs or heels.

Trying to get the Magnum and Jaguar from Arda wigs:

those are actually pretty easy styles to do based off of the wigs that you got/are getting. Jaguar in black and magnum in white look up tutorials on youtube on how to cut and trim cosplay wigs. you may just find someone with a tutorial for those characters. You can find the scissors you would need at walmart down by all the hair styling tools. Good Luck and go slowly

I would recommend you buy some really cheap wigs off ebay first so that you can practice and botch them up as much as you want until you're comfortable to move onto your Arda wig.
