So many people nowadays are doing the "feminine versions" of what they think a character would look like. I would think that all kind of started with Naruto and all those adorable Sexy no Jutsu ideas everyone had.
Sexy Mario, Sexy TARDIS, Sexy Cloud.

ACen is always such an eclectic collection of random ideas that some times you wouldn't even THINK of cosplaying and I've noticed a huge increase in the fem and girly versions of peoples favorite characters.

I. Love. Them. All.

Anyone doing things like this for ACen?

Ah, you mean Rule 63 cosplays!

I'm going as Ness from Earthbound(Mother 2) for a day. All I need is a bat, backpack, and red sneakers and I'm all set! I got my Ness shirt and hat from Fangamer. I love cosplays that you can piece together with real clothes/items. It's so much easier if you're doing multiples and need time to make the other ones.

Don't know if this counts but next year I want to go as the Fem version of my favorite Yugioh cards. I have a plushie of him/her/it and such. Just need to work on figuring out how to make my friends male version of him into a living female form.

I may bring my fem Luffy from one piece. But seriously though if I like a male character enough but don't want to deal with crossplay I will just rule 63 it because I'm lazy and I love to make them female.

I've always thought a Fem version of Link would be fun. I hate it when people go overboard. Like they think the skankier it is the better it will be.

These are my plans: I have a floral gold lace trim I'm adding to the edges of the chain mail, a nice Celtic trim for the tunic, women's leggings instead of pants, I'll be keeping the hair mostly the same with maybe a cute triforce pin or something and wearing a little makeup. Much of that outfit is rather unisex as it is, so I'm just girly-ing it up a bit. XD

When I went to WausaubiCon 2011 I cosplayed as a fem!Shizuo Heiwajima.

On a side not it's extremely fun to do these sort of cosplays, even though I won't be doing one for this particular convention. ;.;

Just finished making this a month or so ago. I'll redo the dress eventually since it doesnt sit right. I dont have a mannequin and i probably shouldve done a mock up beforehand but it's not a total loss. alot of the pics i have up right now are kinda bleh. xD I havent done a photoshoot or anything with it. It was a fun little concept. I hope it doesnt look too "sexy" x.x I was really trying to keep it classy yet have that i-dont-care kind of attitude about it. This costume is ungodly comfortable to wear.

Based on that pic, I would love to do a fem Iron Man!

Normally I kind of shy away from rule 63 character because I don't feel I have the creativity to make them, but...I would do that. And I love ones that are done non skanky

Yeah I hate slutty Rule 63 cosplays. I don't even try cosplays that show very much skin.

Naka-Kon was this past weekend and I ended up putting together a last minute fem cosplay. I was Fry from Futurama. Unlike most genderbend cosplays, this is canon. It appeared in the episode "Neutopia."

I might be bringing this to ACen as I've seen Futurama cosplayers there before.

There's already fem versions of characters I would like to be floating around in my head! I mostly watch shonen anime and so all my favorite characters are male. I tried testing out makeup to make my face look more masculine to see if I could be a male character...but I just ended up looking very transvestite-ish ( ._.)

So I think making female adaptations is brilliant~

It's amazing seeing how many people are doing fem versions compared to years back, and same with male versions. I'm more interested in male version cosplays, and have wanted to try my hand at a male Celty. I'm not sure what I'd wear since I've only seen her in her suit (tried wearing a black button up with black pants and such, it looked all right).

That sounds cool - I'm sure you'll figure out something you like. =) And it's funny you mention doing male versions - my friend (who is actually female) will be doing a male Zelda with my female link, although she won't have it for ACen.

Not this year, but someday I want to try to do genderbend cosplays of Kariya Matou and/or Rider from Fate/Zero. They'd both genderbend nicely IMO.

Popping in here to ask what methods you were using? There's ways to change face shape to look more masculine or feminine without it resulting in there. (Sorry, MUA side of me popping up and drag queens are kind of my love.)
