I know they're not of Japanese descent, but I think Korean pop has made a big impact in Japan's pop music industry..
Just take Tohoshinki (TVXQ/Dong Bang Shin Ki) for example; they got big enough to sing the remix of One Piece's first opening song for its 10th anniversary, not mentioning that they also sang the new opening song that came after that. Another one would be 2PM who sang the first ending theme of Blue Exorcist.

Other pretty popular ones are Kara, Girls' Generation (SNSD/Shoujo Jidai), EXO, The Boss (Dae Guk Nam Ah/Daikoku Danji), JYJ, Super Junior, and SHINee.

I'm pretty sure if you bring these people, a hoard of fangirls will raid the registration booth haha.

i think it might be hard to get those type of big name artists(especially for kpop), but i think the smaller rookie groups like bap, EXO(K or M), VIXX(already been to an american con before)and a few others would be awesome too see there

It would be awesome for them to come (as you can see I am a fan of Girls' Generation) but I have to sadly agree that they won't be able to make it. They would probably have to know a while in advance unless things were such that they were already here.

I imagine one of the Exo's could maybe do it but I think right now, seeing how SM works, they are focusing mostly in SNSD's Japan Arena tour. (SM seems to focus on one of their groups at a time from what I heard) Though EXO could be next.

I would actually vie for f(x) since they will be here next week for South by Southwest and SM might want to do something more for their US fame.

Okay can I just say that, if ACen ever got Brown Eyed Girls, I'd just die of happiness? I don't even need a massive name like SNSD. Just. Gimme BEG. Please. I don't care that they aren't Japanese tbh. I'd give anything to see them.

Lol. considering how difficult it is to even get one of these kpop bands to come to the US, I doubt they'd do so for an anime con. Just saying. That is unless you find a rookie group who's company might find it to be a good step into broadening their fanbase, or find a group that doesn't have much in the way of schedules. But yea, big acts like SNSD, SHINee, TVXQ, Big Bang, Kara, and so on.. won't have the time nor the interest. Their companies have other big plans for them (such as solo concerts, company concerts, endorsments).

I'm a huge lover of k-music, and would absolutely LOVE to see an act be performed here, but I just know how unlikely it is. Thats all. You even have broadcasting companies who hold concerts ( ex. special episodes for Music Bank and Music Core) who will get acts to perform in far off lands like the US, so really there is even less incentive for them to agree to a convention that doesn't even focus on their genre.
