I am targeting February for the open of ticket sales, probably at the end of the month. We still need to input all the seats into our online order system and settle the non-purchased badge linking.

No matter what, I will give at least a week notice before tickets go on sale once I know the date. I will likely announce ticket prices before Valentine's Day.

Sounds like a plan in action! Thanks for getting back to me and everyone so quickly, Ken. :D I'll keep an eye out, as I'm sure everyone is. This is just too awesome for words.

Cool. I missed seeing them at AX 2011 because the Miku concert was my priority then & they sold out quickly too at Club Nokia which is around half the space of the Akoo theater. I don't know how much of the ticketing details are worked out yet, but it might not be a bad idea to offer free standby tickets though you risk some ppl just not buying at all but maybe better then having a theater possibly less then full.

Any word on what time this concert will be? or will that be announced at the time of tickets going on sale?

Regarding creating a group for purchasing tickets so my friends and I can sit together, my account page says I can no longer join a group because I've already ordered a badge. Can you clarify how we can create a group for people who've already bought badges not in a group?

At this point, I do not know the particular process that will need to be followed to purchase tickets together. I am told it is different than the groups made for badge purchases. At this point, the only specific detail I know is that for each Kalafina concert ticket to be purchased, an ACen badge will need to be on a user's account in the system. How that information will be linked together I do not yet know. When I post ticket purchase information, detailed instructions will be included.

Yeah, I'm wondering something like this too. My friends and I all have different badges and bought them (and two of us four are panelists) and we just want to know how we could form a group together and buy tickets together so at least we can sit next to each other.

Thanks for the updates for us! :) :) :)

How you bought your badges won't influence you're ability to group up for tickets, you just need a paid for/completed Full Weekend badge in the reg system. And Panelist badges are just discounted Full Weekend badges, there isn't actually anything different about them.

El Ken, I know things don't always go as planned, but I just thought I'd ask for an update. Do we have a new target date? I don't mean this in a snarky way, just very excited and afraid I'll miss the announcement. Thank you!

I've finally gotten the numbers I needed from the theatre to enter into the order system (as of today). I will approach the programmers with this information and, based on their predicted turn-around time, will set the open date for ticket sales.

The programmers are shooting for code completion for the ticket sales to be done on/around April 1. There needs to be some time to test to make sure there are no issues, and then the Kalafina ticket sales can open. I do not have a hard date to give you yet, but it will be very early in April.

Regarding buying tickets in a group, each ticket added to your cart will have to have an acen.org (i.e., registration system, not fourms) username supplied, and that username must have a valid badge on its account in order to complete the purchase. Only one concert ticket can be purchased per badge.

When I have the definite ticket sale open date, I will post it all over the place.

Thanks for your patience.

How many tickets will be available approximately? Could it be one of those situations where seats sell out in minutes? D:

There will be approximately 4000 tickets available for sale. The concert takes place at the Rosemont Theatre, so if you want to get a jump on where you want to pick your seats, head over to their website and look at their seating chart page. We'll have a slightly better graphic on our ticketing page.

This may be kind of random question to ask but I was looking at pictures and layouts of AKOO theater and I had a question. I've noticed in some pictures that the seats go right up to the orchestra pit and that the performers actual perform on both the orchestra pit and stage which is combined. I've also seen other pictures where they apparently take out the stage of the orchestra pit and have seating where the orchestra pit is in the diagram. Any idea which the concert is going to be?

I will not be using the stage extension over the pit. Nor will I be using the pit. There will be an open area between the front row seats and the stage, but will be non-accessible for attendees. I need that space for cameramen who will be capturing the performance (which will also be shown real time on two side screens).

Thanks Ken, that's exactly the information I was looking for. Now that I know I can't get right up to the stage anyways, I won't be so disappointed if I can't get the best possible seats. Do you have any idea if the cameras could block the view of some of the people in the front most seats? Most concerts that I have been to had big stationary camera setups behind or above the seating, so I could imagine that if it were one of those kinds of camera set ups, it could possibly block the view for those viewers right in the front. Something like this for example. Sorry again for these overly specific question, I just like to do my research and make sure I get the best seats...it's only a few times I get to see Japanese artists per year so I wanna go all out ya know?

The guys up front will likely just have steady-cams, but I don't know that for certain yet. A more ideal situation might be to lay a track system that keeps a lower profile for the camera operators, but I don't know if I can pull that off. If the operators are using steady-cams, they will be instructed to avoid blocking the audience views.

There will be other fixed-position cameras capturing footage from higher positions in the house. Those will be set up, and seating arranged, so that they will not block the views of the audience on the main floor.

Every year it becomes harder and harder for me to go to ACen so this year it seems it will be pretty much solely for the concert that I'll be attending (and based on the venue, to me it's pretty much worth the cost of a weekend badge plus the pocket change you're charging for the tickets just to attend the concert...would've paid a lot more in Japan). It's like I'm buying an $80 concert ticket and getting a free con, haha.

Being that it's like on my bucketlist to see them and I was totally going to put it on a shortlist for my next Japan trip, I'm just saying (and maybe I'm not alone) I would have gladly paid a lot more for tickets. If you had like a $100 VIP package or something I'd be all over that (if my mouse and internet speed would not fail me as it has in the past...) I know in your other post you said your goal is not to generate revenue for ACen, but if I'm confident that the money is reused in a pool that would mean a rise from the dead of the guest department and more AMAZING guests such as this one, I'd gladly pay (plus the promised land of cool seats and a meet and greet or something, if that could be negotiated into your contract which might be a doozy but this is a pipe dream anyway)

Just a random thought...

THIS... Also interested in a VIP package, even though I know that every seat is a good seat in this venue.

Honestly, if the tickets were intended to generate revenue for the GR department, I'd even more gladly shell out for the most expensive Kalafina ticket I could afford. This year is the first year that I have ever been truly excited for ACen's guests outside of the musical guest (thanks to Yuu Asakawa), and Kalafina is at this point tied for music guest I've been most excited for. I'm a huge Aural Vampire fan, or else Kalafina would win it by a landslide. This is the first year that the big reason I'm excited for the con is because of the guests. I'd like for this to continue. There is a survey over at Anime News Network asking what Japanese production staff and seiyuu con attendees for several major cons, including ACen, would like to see. If we could start getting guests of the caliber of the ones on that list every year from now on, I would be so incredibly happy. I'm sure that would cost a lot of money. So if some of the money for my Kalafina ticket was guaranteed to be going back to the GR department specifically, I would have no qualms about buying the most expensive ticket I could get my hands on. I already fully intend to get the $30 one.

I too wish there was an autograph session and VIP tickets for the concert. I'd shell out a couple hundred bucks if I had to. I paid $100 to see May'n and got to go backstage and meet May'n in Los Angeles and get her autograph...that was so sick!!!

Anyways thanks for the info Ken.
