Especially those of you who have a lot of costumes...seriously, where?

I have a lot of costumes as well, and they're sort of piling up. I'm currently keeping all my costumes in plastic bins, but, well, that's not proving to be a great choice, as it's incredibly irritating constantly having to move plastic bins around everywhere (because also, they're heavy.)

How do you guys keep your cosplay storage (mostly) aggravation-free?

Well right now, my largest cosplay item (Garterbelt's robe) is just hanging in the closet. I do plan on putting the robe inside this large bag for formal clothing such as suit jackets sometime this weekend.

My closet is very small so I have my cosplay in the biggest closet in the house. Plus I can fit more in there if I ever make or buy more.

I have a walk in closet and I own very few clothes that require hanging rather than just folding, so pretty much all of my hanging space is for my costumes (which is good, because I have a lot as I get to hang on to both mine and my sister's). Now, accessories/shoes for those costumes, on the other hand... Those are kind of in heaps, both under and above my hanging clothes. ^_^;; I really should reorganize those...

I too have that issue. My garage is attached to my house so Its my work space and "closet". I have a few of those Build it yourself kits. cheap but worth it!

BTW: Mine have rollers, easier to move

Right now, it's evenly distributed between a closet (for things that oughtn't to be folded) and a dresser (for things that can fold.) Footwear just sits on the bottom of the closet. I don't have lots of clothes, so that helps to free up space!

My big storage problem is cosplay supplies. However, I've just gotten a freestanding storage closet, and I think with that + some collapsible bins, I might finally be able to keep things organized and accessible!

Lmfao, With risk of sounding like the biggest clique on the internet, I invaded my mothers basement after my room got too small. And when I moved out she let me keep the costumes at her house while i was moving in like this big, zip-up collapsible wardrobe thing.

http://www.walmart.c...-Closet/5245002

She just keeps it in a dry corner totally out of the way. lol so if your house has 8 square feet to spare in the attic or basement, it's worked amazing for me!

Honestly? Everywhere. In boxes. In drawers. On closet shelves. In the trunk of my car?I still have a prop from my Nami costume in my traveling suitcase from last year. Every time I open it I'm like "I should probably take that out..." and then absentmindedly throw clothes on top of it.
I'm extremely disorganized, and if I plan on re-wearing a costume it can take a few days to find all the pieces. I still have no idea where my Anemone wig went. That's been driving me nuts for years! It was such a perfect shade of pink. TT^TT
When I move I'll probably get a rollaway "closet" like I had in my college dorm. Or something.

I only have one real closet in my tiny apartment, so I've got most things in bags in there ;_;

The nicer things I have hanging in my like open closet/walkway thing from my bedroom/living room to my kitchen.

I can't wait to have an apartment that has a separate office that I plan to turn into a craft room @_@

I actually am lucky and have 2 closets in my bedroom so it's actually pretty easy for me to store the actual cosplays but not really the footwear that goes with certain outfits. Usually I store all of the pieces of the cosplay on a single heavy duty hanger with other hangers attached for other pieces. Single hanger has been the easiest solution as when I go to a con I just grab the one hanger for each outfit and it takes up a lot less space in the closet at the hotel.

...in a walk-in closet...

.....in a not-walk-in closet...

...in 2 bins.......

.....in a roller suitcase............

Methinks there's quite a bit. I can't wait for my husband and daughter to go on vacation so I can clean without prejudice.

Hanging up in my closet and storage bins. My closet's not very big, so I'm thinking of selling costumes I won't use again. I need another room. XD

Currently I don't have many so they are in various parts of my closet. The ones that are easy to fold are in the bottom drawer of my dresser. The ones that are heavier (long dresses, thicker materials) are hanging behind my dresser in my closet and then I have props and wigs stored all over my room and closet.

I think in the future I might invest in Space Bags for them so I can pile a bajillion in a plastic bin and put them in one spot

I have mine scattered on head stands in my room, hanging in various places, and rarely used ones in the closet.

I don't take as great care of my costumes as I should. I usually just hang them in the closet and when they start taking up too much space, I have a ton of them now and they're heavy, I keep them in plastic bins or boxes in my closet. The wigs I try to keep on the wig heads in boxes or in bags to keep them from getting tangled because it is such a pain to detangle a long wig. Might be reusing a costume from 2007 so at least I know where it is!

lets see... I keep the moogle mascot head atop the computer desk cabnet thingie allowing it to watch over my room at all times. The body and my other cosplays are in the closet. lol. I do absolutely nothing special for my cosplays x.x then again i don't have a cosplay that requires a wig or small parts like jewelry.
Planned Cosplay: Moogle (FF series), Random Alchemist (FMA), White Mage (FF series)
