ACen 2013 Masquerade Pre-Registration form

The major changes from last year to this are:
1) the inclusion of the International category
2) the need for you to provide me with your ACen badge name (the one you give to the registration folks, not your forum name)

Masquerade isn't full yet is it? i used to be on the mailing list, but I had to skip the masq. last year & I think I fell of it. I never got anything for this.

Nope, it's actually built into the pre-registration form (you're asked a question about craftsmanship. say yes, get more questions. say no, and you're done).

the email I'm sending out lists two codes if you signed up for both.

Oh, thanks! I got one page of craftsmanship questions. I thought it would ask me more so I wondered if there was another form. So does it take a while to hear back? I sent mine on the 13th. Is the International full already?

No, I'm behind -- getting caught up today, though. (too many states in too short a time for work + 12+ hour days and suddenly i was like, wait -- what is today's date? crud.)

Update: Journeyman Craftsmanship and Master Craftsmanship has filled but, but there are still Novice and Group Craftsmanship slots available. There are also both Skit and Walkon slots available!

I'm so nervous to do all that, and don't know what cosplay to even do? Any suggestions for a newbie?

1) figure out which cosplay you want to do. what's a favorite anime/manga that you feel you can do? (cosplay selection key, imho: what's something you want to do? it's okay if it isn't perfect, but since you're going to dedicate your time to it: make sure it's something which can be a labor of love!)
1a) if you're looking for a lot of crowd cheering, more popular shows tend to get more of that than less popular shows. however, see #1 -- if you're doing it for others, you won't have nearly as much enjoyment as doing it because it's something you want to cosplay.

2) Breathe. Walk-ons are pretty straight-forward. Sure, there's going to be a lot of people who can see you but -- it's dark in that room, you won't see most of them.

3) Relax. It's my job and the job of my team to stress out on your behalf We'll tell you where to be, when to be there.... Hang out with the other participants, meet people, make friends.... have fun!

It is full at this time. just filled up earlier this week. I'm accepting alternates in case some drop -- but only a couple.

i see the link to the submission form is still up does that mean we can still register or has that closed if i can im either looking to just do a walk on or if the novice craftsmanship division is still open i would like to enter that.

(i did submit an entry just incase)my first time in a masquerade!
if my entry is accepted i was wondering(and this can be answered for future reference) i did add an original idea to the wings on my costume its the planetary symbols hand embroidered onto the wings will this disqualify me or will i have to explain my thought process on why i decided to add this to the costume?

Still open -- but won't be much longer!

as for "an original idea" -- make sure you explain why you did it! don't assume the judges will ask -- if it varies from the images but you have a legitimate reason for it, point it out!

1 shattered my laptop screen this past week which kinda wrecked certain activities but a work-around has been figured out and all pre-reg confirmations are out. If you don't have one, let me know. if you want to shift to skit -- reply to the pre-reg email and work with me through that!
