Hi!
Last year they changed up the way we order electricity. We don't order it through ACen anymore but instead order it directly through the Donald E Stephens Convention Center. If there's not a convention center PDF up on the Artist's Alley page yet, there will likely be one posted soon. The power through them is quite a bit more expensive IIRC, but once table locations were announced last year a lot of table groups bundled together to help reduce costs.

There's a lot of different models out there, but most cost less than what the Convention center is asking, plus you get to keep the thing when the con is over.

The power inverters on Amazon confuse me a little--it looks like most of them plug into the car's cigarette lighter for power. How do you know if it's one of those or an actual portable battery that doesn't need a plug-in to work?
Given last year's AA success, I'm thinking I might want to invest in something like this to power a few things at my table.

I'd love to know, too, what sort of inverter you are using? I want to be able to power a laptop and printer, and am looking at a Duracell model for about $150 on Amazon, but I have no idea if it will provide me with what I need - and I can't return it! Any help would be appreciated

That's the power inverter I ordered and it works pretty good, though I have yet to test its limits.

I am not in the artist alley- however I used to work at home depot and we sold this and got quite a bit of feedback on it. Its an ok machine, but i wouldn't push it too hard. Powering something like a laptop wouldn't be bad, but I'm not sure how much else I would do. Black and Decker products have gone down in quality, and its liable to burn out if you push it too hard.
