Good morning, fellow forumites!

Got a simple project for y'all :) Call it a show of my own curiosity as to how many folks here have voted. All you need to do is posted "Voted!" once you have done so. Yep, it's that simple. I know not everyone has early voting available, and not everyone here is 18 yet, but that's okay! If you're not of voting age, but you participated in the Scholastic Kids Vote, that counts too.

NOTE: This is NOT a debate thread. We had one once. Then it took an Arrow of Closure to the knee. This is simply a fun one-word project to see how many of us here took the opportunity to vote.

Let's begin!

Voted!

I'll be voting the 6th. I practically live at my polling place (it's in the apartment complex's office building), so it'll take me all of 5 minutes to vote.

Voting on the 6th in the morning.

Possibly heavy drinking to commence in the evening.

Waiting till Tuesday. Never know if something concerning a candidate will come up (there *are* more things on the ballot than the Prez ya know). Once you early vote you can't change your mind, unlike voting absentee. Plus it's easier to get to the local normal polling place for me, and the lines (if any) will be a lot shorter.

Like Kahad said, that's likely to happen anyway. (My bottles are plastic and filled with Pepsi, though.)

That's a good thing. Americans like to swear and throw things when their guy doesn't win. Then 24-48 hours later, we shrug and say, "Well, screw him...but I guess we're stuck with the SOB..." We're better than Europe at that sort of thing.

At least, I hope we are.

Tried to vote before work. Line was outside the building. So I had to wait til after work. Still waited for about 5 mins. That is either a really good thing or a really bad thing.

If we're lucky, gridlock will be what we get.

But...

I will look at this night as a win-win. If my liberal friends are right, and all Obama needs is four more years to get us back on our feet, then the economy will get better, unemployment will go down, gas prices will drop, and so on. That's okay with me. I'm not so much of a partisan that I want Obama to fail. So, if the liberals are right, Obama's going to be awesome in his second term and all will be well. Good. I hope so.

But the problems have not gone away. Unemployment is still at 7.9%, Iran still wants to nuke Israel (and us if possible), there's still questions as to what happened at Benghazi, gas prices are still high, the economy is stagnant, and the entitlement freight train is heading right towards us. And if you voted to keep us out of war, someone forgot to tell Iran, Syria (we may still intervene there), and Mali (where chances are very good we're going in).

I'd feel more confident if Obama had laid out a plan to solve those things. He didn't.

So, if Obama continues to screw up, in two years the Republicans will retake the Senate. In four, possibly the White House. Win-win.

But if any of us think the hard part is over, you're wrong. It has just begun. Obama may regret winning tonight. I hope he doesn't--I hope we don't regret it.
