Naoko Takeuchi is the creator of Sailor Moon. With the new series coming in 2013 I think it would be possible that she would want to be doing as much promotion for it as she could. Sailor Moon has been going strong for 2 decades and the series (and the mangaka) have fans all over the world. She has only been in the US once (1998 if I remember correctly) and would be a huge draw to both the older anime fans and younger ones as well.

Seconded! I grew up on Sailor Moon and am super-excited for the new series. I would love it if she were a guest!
