So, as we know, this year has kind of become an unofficial year for crowd-funded projects from indie devs. Some big ones are Doublefine's still-unnamed adventure title, Wasteland 2, and Shadowrun Returns. Any projects you've donated to or that you're interested in getting once they come out?

GAME!!!

now that andrew hussie has nearly two million to make it, i'm wondering if he's gonna bring in some
serious and reliable game developmers onto staff, or what. he's got a decent chunk of change to develop it
and hasn't revealed a single bit of what the game will actually BE.

I donated to Yogventures earlier this year. Can't wait til it gets released in December. The demos they've shown looks great & there's tons of tools in the game so far for people making adventure maps.

Sadly won't be attending ACen 2012. So I'll be taking my cosplay up a notch for 2013.

Considering how many Kickstarter projects end up producing nothing I so far will not. Project Eternity would be considered since it's some known actual developers but otherwise I don't trust them. The Ouya is a perfect example of what I mean.

I funded "The Other Brothers" (get a free copy) but they didn't meet the donation goal so my money was refunded.
The game is going to still be made though.

Threw some money (and made some promo videos) for Kat Attack, a new game being developed by Axel Shokk (no, not xenon...anymore). Gave the same support to Arrapha, though that's Indiegogo. All the same, haven't heard much from either of the talents, both of which are likely uber busy. I keeps calm and eat cookies. :P/>

I haven't explored too many Indie projects, but if I found one of interest I'd consider. On a side note when big names like Peter Molyneaux, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Whoopi Goldberg ask for money, I think that's complete BS because you know they could afford their projects.

There is one that I have backed (and have managed to reach their goal) and it's an RPG called Anima: Gate of Memories. The artwork is done by one of my favorite artists from DeviantART, Wen-M. From the videos, it seems pretty cool so far. He even held a character and monster design contest, where the winners' designs will be in the game. I joined on the contest for the character part, but unfortunately lost. Anyway, it will probably be released by next year.

Oh wow, that is BEAUTIFUL artwork. I'll definitely keep an eye on that one.

Seems another RPG title came up, this time from the same guys who are bringing out Wasteland 2.:

http://www.kickstart...des-of-numenera

It reached its goal in 6 hours. It's essentially going to be a pseudo-sequel to the classic RPG Planescape: Torment, having some of the same designers (and based in a Kickstarter-backed pen-and-paper RPG designed by the creators of the Planescape setting for Dungeons and Dragons). This year and the next are going to be an interesting year for PC RPGs

and now I'm reminded of Amanda Palmer's TED Talk and how all artists should get a job and stop asking for money. Or is Amanda the exception and those big names not allowed to make direct contact with their audience?

Cyramore.
This looks Kewl with a captial K.

An action-RPG but the pitch animated video alone deserves our funding.
Soundtrack by Aivi Tran, the "VG Piano Princess."

It's not kickstarter, but I did support Skullgirls on Indiegogo. That was a wildly successful campaign.
Everything I say is either true or extremely handsome!

More people than I think the devs could have imagined. I'm glad that the game got such a positive reaction from what I consider a very divided community. Fighting game enthusiasts can be very fickle.

So another Kickstarter has been made for 2D platformer akin to Megaman, along with extra things like jetpacking and teleporting. Teleporting! Called Rex Rocket, I'm aware of it because I like to keep my pulse on what's happening with the chiptune scene, and Saskrotch is set to make the music. I haven't thrown in my money yet, but it's kinda given that they'll have it. Represent, you know? ;)
